Program governance centered on a finance-led rollout model that enforced standardized process adoption and critical financial controls through release gating and change window discipline. The implementation narrative makes clear that process harmonization, control embedding and a defined operating model for finance governance were core to the rollout, supporting consistent transaction handling and compliance across sites. The implementation delivered new SAP S/4 HANA technology, standardized finance processes and critical financial controls to Anglo American South Africa and its operating units, and completed four successful ERP releases as part of the established transformation roadmap. Anglo American South Africa SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial now underpins centralized finance operations and standardized governance for the Group and marketing functions.

The program emphasis was explicitly linked to the P101 initiative, aiming to lift asset management practices across all operations to improve and sustain equipment health, enhance reliability and propagate good work practices, thereby contributing to the companys Burning Ambition. Implementation narratives focused on standardizing EAM processes, enforcing data standards and institutionalizing maintenance work management and reporting disciplines rather than quantifying financial or performance outcomes.
