In 2020, Ansys implemented Celonis AP Automation as a central element of its AP Automation program, establishing enterprise process mining and automation capabilities for accounts payable and procure to pay. Ansys built the automation infrastructure rapidly, implementing the core automation infra-Architecture within three weeks and provisioning environments to support analytic process automation and continuous mining workflows using Celonis AP Automation.
Operational coverage spanned Finance functions including Record to Report, P2P, Accounts Payable, and Tax, and extended into HR Operations, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Sales, and Marketing through an Automation Pipeline created with business champions. The program worked directly with ERP, CRM, database management, ServiceNow, and HRIS managers to map process challenges and to layer Celonis AP Automation on top of those application landscapes for discovery and orchestration.
Governance and delivery were formalized through an in-house Automation Center of Excellence and an Automation Governance Model, with centralized ownership for infrastructure, analytics, and process mining. A cross-functional delivery model was established, led by the Global Practice Head and a team of Data Analytics Engineers, Process Mining specialists, RPA and automation developers, infra architects, and process analysts, supported by staff augmentation in on-site and offshore models to control implementation cost.
Outcomes reported from the Celonis AP Automation implementation include a reduction in identified process variance from 62 percent to 15 percent within P2P and Accounts Payable, generating more than 500000 in documented savings. The program delivered over 45 automations within 14 months, saving approximately 15000 hours per year and projecting a 200 percent ROI over three years, while the rapid infra deployment enabled delivery of 10 large automations within eight months.

Implementation work focused on configuring Recruiting Marketing features such as candidate sourcing, nurturing campaigns, talent pool management, employer branding controls, and CRM-driven recruitment workflows, aligned with standard Candidate Relationship Management functional patterns. The deployment included marketing automation for candidate outreach and tracking, configuration of talent segments and campaign templates, and analytics instrumentation to support recruiting reporting obligations.
Integrations were established with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central to support candidate to hire data flows and with Kronos Time & Attendance to align workforce records, reflecting the systems listed in internal HRIS operations. Governance and operational ownership remained with HRIS staff, where an HRIS Analyst II managed upgrade management, system maintenance, vendor support tickets, escalated employee assistance, compliance reporting, and annual setup for performance, succession, and compensation processes through May 2020. This configuration framed recruiting and HR processes around a unified SAP SuccessFactors recruiting stack and Candidate Relationship Management capabilities.
