In 2024, Apiam Animal Health implemented EzyVet as its Medical Practice Management system and began migrating its more than 70 rural veterinary clinics to a unified cloud platform. The program followed a portfolio consolidation approach, moving clinics that were previously operating on a mix of centralized networks and siloed systems into a single, centrally managed application model to standardize clinical and administrative workflows across the group.
EzyVet was configured to support broad veterinary domains, including companion, large animal, equine, and production animal workflows, reflecting Apiam Animal Health’s rural practice mix. Functional capabilities emphasized during implementation included clinical records and notes capture, mobile photo and documentation upload, patient monitoring from internet connected devices, billing and invoicing, scheduling, and document management, aligning with common Medical Practice Management capabilities.
Deployment used a cloud-first architecture to deliver clinic access from any internet connected device, enabling nurses and veterinarians to capture clinical notes and images on the move and to streamline in-clinic billing and document upload activity. The rollout timeline began in late 2023 and continued into 2024, with two practices already live and a third practice, Fur Life Vet Highton in Geelong, in the midst of go live, while the broader roll out to dozens of additional clinics remained planned.
Governance emphasized meticulous planning and coordinated training, with Apiam’s Applications Manager Implementation and Support working closely with EzyVet’s Enterprise and Implementation teams who traveled to Australia to align on requirements and deliver workshops and Q&A sessions. Early operational outcomes reported by clinic staff include smoother go live week experiences, increased nursing efficiency in uploading documents and billing, more clinical time for veterinarians, and greater flexibility to monitor patients remotely, and Apiam planned continued phased rollout of EzyVet across its portfolio.
