In 2019, Aptiv UK migrated from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4 HANA. The engagement implemented SAP S/4 HANA as the core ERP Financial platform to centralize and standardize finance, controlling and treasury workflows across the United Kingdom finance organization.
The SAP S/4 HANA implementation included Transfer pricing with multiple valuation, S/4 HANA currency setup for functional currency, S/4 HANA New Account based COPA, S/4 HANA Product Costing, S/4 HANA New Asset Accounting, S/4 HANA General Ledger, and S/4 HANA Financial Closing Cockpit. The deployment also incorporated S/4 HANA Intercompany Reconciliation and S/4 HANA standard inter company and Intracompany processing with Transfer pricing, plus S/4 HANA FSCM Credit Management full version and S/4 HANA FSCM Collections and Dispute Management to address receivables and credit control.
Operationally the SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial implementation structured transactional flows for intercompany posting, automated reconciliation, product costing inputs to controlling, and fixed asset accounting across relevant finance subfunctions. Financial Closing Cockpit was configured to orchestrate period end activities and reconcile General Ledger to Account based COPA, while FSCM modules were configured to manage credit limits, collections workflows and dispute resolution within the receivables lifecycle.
Governance and process changes focused on embedding transfer pricing policies into intercompany postings and on revising master data and chart of accounts controls to support New Asset Accounting and the New Account based COPA model. The program emphasized standardized month end orchestration, reconciliation ownership across accounting and controlling teams, and operational handoffs between treasury, accounts receivable and intercompany accounting under the SAP S/4 HANA environment.

In 2019 Aptiv UK implemented Workday Absence Management to support Absence and Leave Management as part of its broader Workday HR program. The Workday Absence Management deployment was executed within Aptiv's global Workday environment that supports HCM Workflows, Self Service, Compensation, Talent Management, Recruiting and Reporting & Analytics, aligning absence administration with enterprise HR processes.
Configuration and functional scope included standard Workday Absence modules configured for employee self service and workflow-driven approvals, integration into reporting and analytics for absence metrics, and alignment with Talent Management and Compensation workflows. Workday Absence Management was instrumented to feed master HR data and absence reporting used by regional HR teams and COEs for policy enforcement and operational oversight.
Operational governance was centralized under a global HRIS analyst team that supervises system maintenance activities, continuous improvement and uptake of new functionality. Master data governance practices were established, including routine data certification programs and reporting to assess and validate data quality, while COEs partnered on system functionality, configuration and documentation.
Change management responsibilities included identifying organization change needs, developing training and engagement approaches, and implementing toolkits and job aids for sustained user adoption. The program also included collaboration with other functional areas and external vendors to identify process improvements and resolve issues, and regular reporting of global Workday metrics to provide insight on the health of system usage.

Operational responsibility rested with the HR and Internal Communications functions, with day to day booking tasks handled by administrative staff supporting the Internal Communications Manager. The solution was positioned as the primary corporate channel for travel arrangements across Aptiv UK, supporting event coordination and employee travel needs across local offices and plants.
Governance and workflow changes emphasized formalizing who could book travel and how bookings aligned with company policies, embedding travel approval steps into established administrative processes. Administration and ongoing use were integrated into HR and internal communications workflows to ensure consistent application of travel policy and centralized booking oversight.
