In 2017 Arcor implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne as its ERP Financial platform and moved its JD Edwards deployment onto Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The rollout addressed constraints from an on premises data center environment that had supported the application across more than 290 systems, and the initial migration path included a private cloud phase before final consolidation on OCI.
The deployment emphasized standard ERP Financial capabilities, including core financial management, inventory and supply chain controls, order management, and capacity scaling configurations that support seasonal production cycles. Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne was configured to centralize transactional finance and operational data across Arcor’s three major business divisions, aligning financial ledgers with supply chain execution to reduce friction between planning and fulfillment.
Arcor leveraged Oracle Cloud Infrastructure capacity scaling and a bring your own license model coupled with an unlimited license agreement to rationalize licensing and pay a single up front fee for flexible license consumption. The project team evaluated alternative cloud providers for performance and cost, and ultimately used OCI to host the Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne estate while retaining support from Oracle Advanced Customer Services for the migration and stabilization phases.
Operational coverage spanned the multinational group that exports to 120 countries, focusing on logistics, seasonal capacity management, and the ability to add new enterprise applications on the same cloud tenancy. Governance arrangements included staged cutovers from the private cloud phase to OCI, capacity ramp plans to meet seasonal demand, and licensing governance under the unlimited license agreement to control entitlement and consumption.
Outcomes reported in the program included reduced logistics costs, the ability to scale OCI capacity to meet seasonal demands, reduced total cost of ownership, and improved availability of instances in normal operation. Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne on OCI provided Arcor with a stable ERP Financial foundation to support global export operations and future application expansion.
