| SoftCo | Legacy | SoftCo ExpressAP | AP Automation | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Argos implemented SoftCo ExpressAP to address substantial delays and manual routing in processing non-merchandise supplier invoices. The deployment was framed as an AP Automation initiative to centralize invoice capture and approval and to remove paper-based distribution bottlenecks across the organization.
SoftCo ExpressAP was configured to provide centralized invoice capture, automated matching against valid purchase orders, workflow-driven invoice approval and supplier query handling. The implementation emphasized capture-to-payment visibility and automated approval routing, delivering typical AP Automation functional capabilities such as data extraction, PO matching, and an approval orchestration layer that enforces supplier compliance.
Operational coverage included Argos Accounts Payable, a core team of 25 staff supplemented by temporary resources, processing in excess of 40,000 invoices per annum. The centralized processing model eliminated multi-day internal mail routing, ensured invoices were matched against purchase order records prior to approval, and provided the AP organization with a single source of truth for invoice status from capture through to payment.
Results from the SoftCo Accounts Payable Automation deployment were explicitly reported by Argos, including an 86% reduction in invoice processing time from three weeks to three days, a reduction in reliance on temporary staff, a 50% decrease in supplier queries, and full visibility of all invoices throughout the AP process which enabled the team to focus on value-added activities and to realize prompt payment opportunities.

| Oracle | Zellis ResourceLink | Oracle Payroll | Payroll | HCM | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Argos implemented Oracle Payroll. The deployment replaced Zellis ResourceLink and focused on centralizing payroll processing for the United Kingdom retail workforce supporting Argos as a retail employer of approximately 9,500 employees.
The implementation centered on core Oracle Payroll capabilities, including payroll processing and payroll batch runs, configuration of pay elements and statutory calculations, and data conversion routines. Oracle Payroll was configured to support Payroll functional workflows and payroll data validation typical of enterprise payroll systems.
Data migration from Zellis ResourceLink was executed using SQL development and extraction, transformation and load processes, with explicit HR Systems Management activities referenced during the engagement. The Oracle Payroll implementation was integrated into existing HR master data flows to ensure employee records and pay elements were synchronized between HR and payroll functions across the United Kingdom.
Project governance included an Application Build Consultant assignment from March 2019 to November 2019, covering build, SQL development for migration, and system configuration tasks. Governance responsibilities were structured between HR Systems and payroll teams to manage configuration, testing and cutover activities for Oracle Payroll.
