Workday SAP HCM (HR) Workday HCM Core HR HCM n/a 2017 2017
In 2017 Ashland began a multi-phase implementation of Workday HCM as its Core HR platform, initiating a two phase global HRIS transition from SAP HCM that completed key deployment milestones in 2018. The program was led as an HCM workstream focused on configuration, testing and deployment to move organizational management and personnel administration functions into Workday HCM. The Workday HCM implementation included configuration of core HR workflows and performance review process management, along with data load orchestration and business rule development to clean and validate employee records. Ashland established dynamic personnel actions, configured standard and customized information types, and managed data scrubbing and validation routines to support accurate processing in Workday HCM. During rollout the team reconciled Organizational Management structures and Personnel Administration data, designing reorganization implementations to support acquisitions and divestitures and processing data load requests. Integration work centered on aligning HR reporting outputs and data feeds between organizational objects and personnel data to ensure consistent HR reporting and operational readiness in Core HR. Governance and adoption activities included global training for all levels of the organization, creation and maintenance of training documentation, job aids and system guides, and ongoing oversight of the global performance review process. Operational responsibilities carried into steady state included issue trend identification, development of corrective business rules through internal and external audits, and regional HR operational tasks such as processing and validating unemployment claims for the US region.
