In 2019, a.s.r. Insurance migrated from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4 HANA in a two-stage program delivered in partnership with Capgemini. The project targeted a.s.r. Insurance operations in the Netherlands across life insurance, non-life insurance, and other business segments to consolidate infrastructure, reduce maintenance overhead, ensure SEPA compliance, and expand capacity for data-based decision-making.
The deployment centralized ERP Financial capabilities by bringing SAP FICO and the FS-CD module into the SAP S/4 HANA universal journal model, simplifying the financial data model and enabling real-time transaction processing. The conversion sequence began with the database migration from Oracle to SAP S/4HANA 2.0, followed by the technical conversion of the ECC application to SAP S/4 HANA, preserving core finance and billing functionality while reducing process complexity.
Architectural changes included introduction of a unified master data source and extension of a prior data archival program applied to SAP FICO and FS-CD, which had earlier reduced database size by 50 percent and lowered storage requirements. After cutover, the environment reported a 30 percent reduction in RAM consumption, shorter batch windows, and improved financial reporting timeliness driven by real-time processing and the simplified data model.
Program governance used a One Team delivery model with Capgemini as the system integrator, staged execution to align with a.s.r. Insurance operational windows, and explicit steps to maintain regulatory and SEPA compliance. The phased rollout aligned conversion activities to business close and renewal cycles, and the migration was completed under Covid 19 constraints without reported execution issues according to the client statement.
Documented outcomes include reduction of monthly closure performance from 12 hours to 4 hours, monthly renewal performance from 24 hours to 6 hours, and morning batch performance from 4 hours to 2 hours, alongside simplified data structures and faster financial reporting. The SAP S/4 HANA implementation consolidated ERP Financial processes at a.s.r. Insurance and established a unified platform intended to support further migration and future innovation.

| NGA HR | Legacy | NGA euHReka | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2010 | 2011 |
In 2010, a.s.r. implemented NGA euHReka WorkSpace as a Core HR solution to extend NorthgateArinso services across approximately 4,500 ASR Nederland employees. The deployment centralized employee self service and P&O Service Center capabilities so employees could manage their own HR records while the organization retained structured case management for HR inquiries.
The NGA euHReka implementation delivered standard Core HR functional modules, including employee self service, talent management, performance management, and Service Center Management with a case management tool. Initial configuration prioritized the P&O Service Center workflow, with planned expansion to include an assessment process and broader talent workflows, reflecting a staged rollout approach aligned to HR process sequencing and configuration of eWS features.
Operationally the project built on NorthgateArinso s existing service relationship with ASR Nederland, where NorthgateArinso had been responsible for SAP application management and payroll processing since 2009. The euHReka WorkSpace deployment therefore complemented the supplier managed HR backbone and payroll operations, and covered HR administration and service center functions across ASR Nederland s HR and P&O teams.
Governance and rollout were executed with an initial October start focused on case management configuration for the P&O Service Center, followed by phased feature expansion. The program explicitly aimed to increase the quality and efficiency of HR services, enable employee responsibility for personal data, and improve transparency and back office processing by removing unnecessary handoffs.

In 2020, a.s.r. implemented Keylane Axon as its Insurance ERP for a.s.r. Life Insurance to rationalise seven separate policy administration systems that had accumulated after multiple mergers. The Keylane Axon Insurance ERP program targeted consolidation of administrative systems and simplification of the product portfolio to reduce operating complexity and administrative fragmentation.
The implementation concentrated on core policy administration capabilities, product configuration and client process optimisation, using Keylane Axon as the central policy platform. The project included configuration of standard product templates and selective customizations, with some modifications invested by a.s.r. and some developed by Keylane for broader market applicability.
Within one year the first migration of the seven systems was completed, executed in collaboration with migration partner Finavista and Keylane, covering a.s.r. Life operational processes in the Netherlands. The deployment impacted policy administration, operations and product management, and produced a significant reduction in operating costs, with cost savings described as nearly offsetting the cost of the new system.
Governance was organized around a compact project team with short lines of communication between a.s.r., Finavista and Keylane, enabling rapid decisions on when to adjust internal processes, request product changes, or accept standard functionality. This governance model balanced investments in internal modifications against changes to Keylane Axon, and institutionalized product rationalization and centralized administration as ongoing operating practices.
