In 2019, ASSA ABLOY Australia implemented SAP SuccessFactors Variable Pay as part of a group wide deployment. This deployment implemented SAP SuccessFactors Variable Pay in a Compensation Management role to centralize variable pay administration and align incentive plan configuration with broader HR processes across the organization.
The implementation was delivered alongside a suite of SuccessFactors modules, including Employee Central, Recruitment, Onboarding, Performance, Succession, Learning, Compensation, Time Off, and JAM. SAP SuccessFactors Variable Pay was configured to support incentive plan structures, eligibility rules, pay component mapping, and integration points with Employee Central and the Compensation module to leverage master employee data and performance outcomes.
Deployment architecture used a centralized global SuccessFactors platform that was introduced to a decentralized organization covering over 72 countries, with ASSA ABLOY Australia included in the global configuration. The approach emphasized shared global configuration for core compensation logic while accommodating regional localization requirements for eligibility and statutory pay handling, and it aligned Variable Pay data flows with HR master records managed in Employee Central.
Governance was structured through the global HR project team, embedding standardized approval workflows, role based access controls, and audit trails within SAP SuccessFactors Variable Pay to support consistent compensation decisioning. The program connected compensation planning, variable pay calculations, and performance inputs to operational HR and payroll processes, positioning Compensation Management as a centralized service within the group level HR operating model.
