| Avaya | Legacy | Avaya Aura Communication Manager | Call Center | CRM | n/a | 2017 | 2018 |
In 2017, Associated British Foods implemented Avaya Aura Communication Manager as a Call Center deployment to support its Shared Service Centre service desk. The implementation positioned Avaya Aura Communication Manager as the core telephony and contact handling platform for service desk agents, handling call routing, agent call control and voicemail in support of IT and customer-facing contacts.
Configuration work integrated Avaya Aura Communication Manager with ticketing workflows and identity systems. Service desk staff used Assyst to capture and route Avaya-originated messages and tickets, and Microsoft Active Directory was used for user provisioning and network group membership tied to telephony accounts. Operational tasks observed during the rollout included adding users to network groups, assigning and renewing RSA VPN software tokens and VPN fobs, and logging Avaya emails into Assyst for departmental assignment.
Operational coverage focused on the Shared Service Centre, with support activity spanning internal IT operations and cross-business server monitoring. The service desk logged backup failures from on-premises servers as well as AT&T hosted servers while coordinating Avaya-related incidents through Assyst. Avaya Aura Communication Manager was used alongside email and instant messaging channels, with Avaya alerts and tickets routed into established incident workflows.
Governance and process changes emphasized ticket assignment rules, access control through Active Directory, and staff onboarding. Training of new service desk personnel on Avaya Aura Communication Manager, Assyst ticket procedures, and RSA token handling was part of the operational rollout. The narrative captures Associated British Foods Avaya Aura Communication Manager Call Center implementation as an integrated communications and service desk orchestration effort.
