In 2020, Astec Industries deployed Oracle Cloud ERP in an ERP Financial capacity to centralize accounts payable, purchasing, and cash management workflows. The implementation was used alongside manufacturing, inventory, and production planning capabilities to align financial transaction processing with production operations.
Oracle Cloud ERP was configured to support core accounts payable operations including weekly payment runs by ACH, checks, wire payments and international payroll distributions, vendor 1099 processing, employee expense audit and posting, and supplier banking validation. The deployment handled high volume transactional patterns reported by accounts payable staff such as processing up to 100 purchase orders per day and coordinating monthly A/P close activities.
Operational coverage included the Chattanooga, TN accounts payable organization where the AP Supervisor managed end to end vendor payments and reconciliations, and coordinated with internal and external auditors. Integrations were implemented within the Oracle Cloud footprint to ensure financial postings reflected manufacturing and inventory movements, providing a unified financial ledger for procurement to pay and production cost capture.
Governance and workflow controls were operationalized through role based approvals, invoice coding and validation practices, payment term updates, and supervisor level oversight of two A/P specialists to manage work flow and deadlines. Daily and monthly processes emphasized payment accuracy, supplier banking validation, and reconciliation of unreconciled checks, consistent with the ERP Financial application scope of Oracle Cloud ERP.

In 2020, Astec Industries implemented Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management as part of a broader Oracle Cloud HCM rollout. The project was executed with Evosys from September 2020 to March 2021 and targeted Absence and Leave Management alongside Oracle Cloud Payroll and the Oracle Cloud Time and Labour module.
The deployment used Oracle Cloud HCM SaaS and integrated Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management with Oracle Cloud Payroll and the Oracle Cloud Time and Labour module. Configured functional capabilities included absence entitlement rules, time off request workflows, absence balance calculation, absence to payroll interfaces, and time capture for labor accounting. Implementation work focused on entitlement accruals, approval routing, payroll accounting mappings, and time and labour synchronization consistent with Absence and Leave Management operational patterns.
Operational scope encompassed HR, payroll, and timekeeping processes within Astec Industries, aligning absence workflows with payroll runs and time capture for workforce management. Evosys provided implementation services and governance design, coordinating rollout activities and change control during the Sep 2020 to Mar 2021 timeline. Governance emphasis was placed on policy configuration, approval workflows, and interface controls between absence management, time and labour, and payroll components.
