In 2020, Athora Netherlands implemented the Pega Platform as a strategic Business Process Management solution to address a highly fragmented application estate and complex process architecture that impeded consistent customer and employee experiences. The program was positioned under a corporate initiative called Customer Obsessed, aimed at shifting the organization from product push to customer centricity while rationalizing hundreds of point applications and thousands of service operations.
The implementation centered on Pega Customer Service and Pega Customer Decision Hub, complemented by Pega intelligent automation and multiexperience development capabilities to separate channel from work and standardize interaction logic. Athora centralized the agent desktop into a single Pega-based interface, consolidated interaction orchestration across channels, and embedded decisioning and automation into individual journey steps to drive end-to-end workflow consistency.
Architecturally, the Pega Platform acted as the orchestration layer linking front office and back office processes, enabling seamless integration of existing applications without naming specific systems.
