In 2008 Atlantic Auto Group implemented Reynolds and Reynolds ERA-IGNITE for Dealership Management. The deployment covered five dealerships and centralized core retail workflows across sales, fixed operations, parts, accounting and human resources, including payroll processing for roughly 200 employees.
The implementation of Reynolds and Reynolds ERA-IGNITE included configuration of standard Dealership Management capabilities such as sales deal capture, inventory and vehicle title tracking, parts management, service scheduling and shop management, F&I transaction support, and integrated dealership accounting. Configuration work emphasized commission and bonus handling, reserve accounting and PTO payouts, reflecting payroll and compensation complexities noted by the payroll and human resources function.
Integrations were established with external payroll providers that the organization used, including ADP and Paychex, to support weekly payroll runs, commission calculations and payroll issue reconciliation. Operational coverage extended across front line service and parts departments where payroll adjustments and union interactions occurred, and the system was used to surface transactional data needed by controllers and HR staff.
Governance and process changes focused on centralized payroll administration and HR workflows, with a Payroll and Human Resources Manager acting as liaison to the controller and to union representatives for FMLA, workers compensation and employee relations matters. Workflows for commission processing, payroll issue resolution and benefits administration were formalized within Reynolds and Reynolds ERA-IGNITE to support consistent operations across the dealer group.
