In 2017, Atlas Air deployed Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to support the CFO organization and to centralize core ERP Financial activities for corporate finance and accounting. The implementation positioned Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne as the primary system of record for financial planning, analysis and reporting, with explicit responsibility for internal and external financial statements, business unit expense and revenue reporting, and oversight of accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and cash balances.
Configuration centered on finance modules typical of ERP Financial deployments, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset accounting, cash management and financial reporting. The deployment included budgeting and accrual workflows aligned to the company process for preparing accruals of incentive plans, coordinating annual and bi annual payments, and supporting capital expenditure and cost benefit analysis workflows used by the CFO and SVP finance.
Operational integrations were implemented to support coordination with HR and payroll functions for incentive and payroll related payments and to consume departmental reporting feeds from business units during the annual budget process. The rollout covered the accounting and finance organization and established data feeds from business unit finance teams to ensure consolidated reporting and to support preparation of business cases, contract management analysis and strategic procurement reviews as described in finance responsibilities.
Governance and process changes were instituted to make the finance organization the owner of all internal and external financial reports, to enforce accounting policies across business units and to formalize a cadence for the rigorous annual budget process. Control points and approval workflows were configured to support finance sign off on accruals and payments, and the finance team was explicitly tasked with acting as trusted advisors to executive leadership while maintaining policies and behavioral standards articulated in company governance.

Operational use is concentrated on external recruiting via the carrier web portal, with recruiters and hiring managers administering requisitions, approvals, and candidate evaluation within the platform.
