In 2017, Atlas Copco USA implemented benefitexpress as its Benefits Administration application. The deployment supported benefits enrollment and centralized deduction handling across the companys US and Canadian operations, covering multi state payroll schedules including weekly, bi weekly and semi monthly runs, and supporting 20 payroll FEINs for over 7,000 salaried and hourly employees. benefitexpress was configured to manage benefits enrollment, eligibility tracking, and deduction file generation, and to feed weekly deduction instructions to external vendors. Ceridian Dayforce HCM was implemented for the Canadian payroll for 375 employees, and the payroll team trained employees and managers on Dayforce WFM Timesheet, Mobile App, and Time Away from Work. Payroll administrators were trained on processing payroll in Dayforce from locking timesheets through the commit process and on distributing deduction files from benefitexpress. Operational integrations included payroll processing on ADP Pro Business, ADP WFN and Ceridian Dayforce, with benefitexpress distributing deduction files to Paylogix and Prudential 401k on a weekly cadence. The team maintained Canadian payroll reports within Ceridian Dayforce HCM while coordinating deduction interfaces originating in benefitexpress. Bringing on acquisitions was operationalized by establishing state tax IDs and transferring employees into the appropriate payroll system among the three in use. Payroll governance centered on a small centralized operations team that supervised four payroll administrators, prioritized tasks, and operated a company Payroll Service Center to provide employee support. Processes were formalized to align benefitexpress enrollment and deduction workflows with payroll commit cycles, and the payroll team collaborated with HR management to interpret company policy and government regulations and to ensure compliance with federal and state withholding requirements.
