Oracle Legacy Oracle E-Business Suite ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2012 2012
In 2012, Atmos Energy managed an Oracle E-Business Suite R12 upgrade project in Dallas, Texas focused on ERP Financial functions. The engagement was led from a QA perspective, running from May 2012 to November 2012, with the Oracle E-Business Suite implementation centered on financial and transactional modules. The implementation scope included functional coverage across GL, AP, AR, iExpense, EAM, iProcurement, Purchasing, and HRMS, with the Oracle E-Business Suite R12 and 11i code streams present in the environment. As QA Lead, the team identified gaps in test coverage and performed training for QA testers on R12 new features, while executing backend testing of Atmos personalizations and using ALM Quality Center and LoadRunner to validate functional and performance behaviors. Test data retrieval from backend databases and Oracle Forms 6i based artifacts were part of the technical QA remit on Linux and AIX platforms. Operational processes emphasized structured CRP and UAT cycles, with the QA lead working directly with users to schedule CRP and UAT testing and to obtain CRP signoff. The QA organization mapped an Atmos 800 CEMLI list to existing test scripts to reduce QA and user testing cycle time, assigned tasks across onsite and offshore testers, produced R12 training documentation for users, and provided regular status updates to management. Governance centered on coordinated test orchestration, user training, and formal CRP signoff workflows to support the Oracle E-Business Suite ERP Financial deployment. The explicit outcome recorded from the mapping effort was a reduction in QA team and user testing cycle time through tighter alignment of CEMLI items to test scripts.
