SAP Legacy SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial ERP Financial Management Accenture 2019 2020
In 2019 Auckland Council implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform, engaging Accenture as the system integrator to build a finance digital core. The program positioned SAP S/4 HANA to consolidate core financial functions while aligning with a parallel SAP Customer Experience deployment used to digitize citizen-facing consenting services. The SAP S/4 HANA implementation focused on standard ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger processing, accounts payable and receivable, financial close and statutory reporting, and procurement-related financial controls. The deployment leveraged SAP S/4 HANA running on the SAP HANA in-memory database to enable faster transaction processing and to provide a foundation for future intelligent ERP capabilities and process automation. Operational integration linked the SAP S/4 HANA finance core with the councils SAP Customer Experience platform, enabling end-to-end processing from citizen submissions to back-office workflows. That integration supported 24/7 online consenting, consolidation of previously paper-based processes, and data handoffs between customer-facing consent intake and council transaction and billing records. Governance and process reengineering accompanied the technical rollout, introducing digital consent workflows, centralized back-office orchestration for building and resource consents, and customer self-service channels. The program delivered measurable adoption in the consenting channel as reported, with online building consents rising from 0% to 52% within six months of go-live and 310 consents submitted in the first week, while processing capacity for applications increased.

SAP Legacy SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Core HR HCM n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, Auckland Council defined the scope of data validation and reconciliation between SAP HCM On-Premise and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central to support data migration delivery. The work positioned SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as the Council's Core HR system within a hybrid architecture that retained on-premise SAP HCM for authoritative records during transition. Implementation emphasis was on employee master data, organizational structure mapping and attribute harmonization as part of the authoritative data handoff to the cloud application. Technical workstreams documented record-level matching rules, reconciliation logic and cutover verification steps, including exception management and audit trails for reconciliation outcomes. Governance was organized around HR data stewards who owned validation criteria and acceptance gates, with a defined reconciliation cadence to support cutover readiness. Integrations concentrated on the authoritative handoff between SAP HCM On-Premise and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, using staging zones and transformation scripts to enable validation, reconciliation and traceability of HR records.

Thinkproject Legacy RAMM Software Enterprise Asset Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2011 2013
In 2011 Auckland Council adopted RAMM Software from Thinkproject for Enterprise Asset Management, initiating a regional consolidation of roading asset data. Auckland Transport consolidated seven council RAMM databases into a single regional RAMM instance to act as the primary roading asset repository for Auckland, New Zealand, and the migration to RAMM 2011 was completed in March 2013. The implementation positioned RAMM Software as the master roading asset system, with inferred deployment of core asset management and work management modules to support carriageway and sign asset inventories, condition and inspection records, and maintenance work scheduling. Configuration focused on standardizing the RAMM data model across previously separate databases to create an authoritative asset register and to harmonize attribute definitions and location referencing for roading assets. Deployment architecture consolidated seven discrete databases into one regional instance hosted for Auckland Transport and Auckland Council operational teams, providing a single source of truth for roading asset information across the Auckland region. The regional RAMM instance supported operational workflows for asset lifecycle management and work execution, serving as the central repository for asset data used by roading maintenance and planning functions. Governance and process changes accompanied the consolidation, including central data stewardship, a unified database operations approach, and documentation consistent with the database operations manual referenced in project materials. The consolidation explicitly improved data consistency and carriageway and sign asset management in Auckland, aligning the RAMM Software Enterprise Asset Management implementation with council and transport operational needs.
