The Accenture Life Insurance & Annuity Platform implementation encompassed modular capabilities for product development, new-business development, underwriting, policy administration, claims and pay-out, using configurable modules that can be implemented individually or as an integrated suite. ALIP’s cloud-native architecture was documented as underpinned by analytics and advanced configuration tooling, supporting faster product configuration and automated business rules for underwriting and case management. Operationally the program targeted customer self-servicing, distribution expansion and underwriting automation, and incorporated a fluidless underwriting approach that combines automation with predictive analytics to assess risk without medical exams. That fluidless underwriting approach and automated new-business workflows contributed to a documented 20 percent reduction in new business processing time on nearly 12,000 new applications, shortening approval cycles from weeks to days. The ALIP deployment was part of a broader IT modernization strategy to enable new product lines and tighter ecosystem integration, and it supported the launch of an indexed Universal Life product that contributed to US$50 million in new premiums. The program and outcomes were recognized by advisory firm Aite-Novarica in its 2022 Insurance Technology Impact Awards in the Life/Annuity/Benefits category, illustrating the implementation’s role in accelerating product speed to market and improving customer and associate experiences.
