In 2005, AVL implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 in an international roll-out that centralized procurement and financial process workstreams. The deployment aligned with ERP Financial objectives and targeted harmonization of purchasing, strategic sourcing and financial transaction recording across the Austria headquartered manufacturing business.
SAP ERP ECC 6.0 included a focused rollout of SAP ERP MM and SAP SRM EBP modules, together with the SRM supplier and tender portal to support supplier collaboration and e sourcing workflows. Implementation workstreams covered purchase to pay processes, procurement master data governance, requisition and purchase order lifecycle, and tender management capabilities native to the SRM supplier and tender portal. Configuration emphasized standard ERP Financial postings for procurements and integration of purchasing transactional flows into the ECC financial ledger.
Operational governance was organized through professional group management of Purchasing Process Development and dedicated project management for internal process and tool projects, with key user and trainer roles embedded in Strategic Purchasing to support the international SAP roll out. The program positioned Strategic Purchasing and Procurement as primary business function owners, with project management overseeing configuration, training, and staged rollouts across international sites. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 served as the primary enterprise system for procurement and associated financial control after the 2005 implementation.
