In 2020 Axia Women’s Health implemented Sterling Background Check as its BackGround Screening solution to support provider onboarding and credential verification. The Sterling Background Check is used by recruiting staff reporting to the Director of Physician and Advanced Practitioner Recruiting and by the Recruiting Coordinator in Voorhees, NJ to initiate screenings for Ob/Gyn physicians, Certified Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
Functional usage centers on initiating criminal and credential screenings, executing NPDB queries, and coordinating certificate of insurance requests with the group MedMal insurance carrier, with mandatory supporting documents collected via DocuSign. Sterling Background Check is embedded in the onboarding workflow to enable case creation, status tracking, and readiness checks prior to credentialing and eCW training.
The deployment explicitly interfaces with DocuSign for document capture, NPDB for sanctions and adverse action checks, and operational handoffs to internal teams including Credentialing, eCW training, Marketing, and practice management. Candidate sourcing and prescreen workflows are coordinated with job boards such as Indeed and LinkedIn and candidates are cross referenced in the UKG ATS to narrow applicant pools and schedule interviews.
Operational governance formalizes notification rules that alert functional teams when a provider is ready to release to Credentialing and produces a bi-monthly new provider credentialing report for practice managers and lead physicians to determine whether start dates should be delayed. The implementation also includes process standardization efforts, notably a consistent job description format and centralized screening initiation, aligning recruiting, credentialing, and training workflows around Sterling Background Check and the BackGround Screening capability.

In 2017 Axia Women’s Health deployed eClinicalWorks Cloud EHR as a cloud-hosted Electronic Health Record to support ambulatory women’s health practices across Philadelphia and New Jersey. The initial rollout emphasized end user readiness with a structured training program that combined in-person classroom sessions and remote Webex instruction prior to go-live.
Training scope included end user classroom training before go-live and elbow to elbow support during go-lives, with a contractor systems trainer leading the training team to develop standardized processes for post go-live optimization and practice analysis. The implementation leveraged core Electronic Health Record workflows such as clinical documentation, scheduling and practice management configured for specialty workflows, while trainers advised stakeholders on configuration and workflow changes to increase operational efficiency.
Data migration rigor was integral to the program, with data validations performed for migrations to eClinicalWorks from Athena, Centricity, Greenway and Allscripts, validating patient records and clinical content to ensure accuracy. Training delivery and validation work extended across multiple practices, combining remote Webex sessions with onsite go-live support to operationalize the eClinicalWorks Cloud EHR.
Governance centered on establishing training and validation processes, ongoing analysis of practice productivity post go-live and stakeholder advisory on system changes, creating a repeatable framework for future rollouts within the organization.
