In 2017 Bahlsen implemented Panvision PANFLOW as a Business Process Management solution to digitize the new-article production workflow from marketing specification to first production. The deployment centralized task routing, specification capture and approval tracking across marketing, production, controlling, packaging and logistics, replacing paper forms and email chains with a governed workflow engine.
Panvision PANFLOW was configured to orchestrate approval routing, document capture, version control and process monitoring, aligned to manufacturing release gates. Implemented capabilities included configurable workflow templates, automated notifications and role based approvals, enabling Bahlsen to model and iterate simpler workflows internally while Panvision continued to deliver more complex automation scenarios.
Integrations were implemented with SAP where needed to surface data and production release status into the PANFLOW workflow, supporting cross system handoffs between SAP and the Business Process Management layer. Governance changes consolidated approval responsibilities and introduced defined checkpoints across departments, and the rollout was executed incrementally so Bahlsen could progressively build and operate simpler workflows. The project increased process transparency and reduced paperwork, while Panvision continued to support advanced automation requirements.
