In 2018, Bark & Co. implemented Tipalti Invoice Management and Bill Processing System as its AP Automation solution. The deployment targeted core accounts payable processes and centralized bill processing with the application managing invoice lifecycles across the organization. The Tipalti Invoice Management and Bill Processing System was configured to handle invoice capture, electronic bill processing, multi-step approval workflows, vendor onboarding and PO invoice matching to support Accounting, Finance and Procurement functions. Configuration included mapping approval hierarchies, invoice field validations and business rules to align with the companys NetSuite financial structures and operational requirements. Integrations were implemented with NetSuite and a set of operational systems documented during the program, including WMS, TMS, EDI solutions such as eZCom, T&E management platforms Abacus and Expensify, revenue recognition engine Leapfin, FP&A tool NSPB and PLM system Centric, enabling data exchange and automated posting of AP transactions into the corporate ledger. These interfaces provided cross-system reference IDs, reconciliation touchpoints and connectivity between AP, Inventory Management and Procurement records. Governance and rollout were led by Business Systems Analysts who produced use cases, data and process flows, BRDs, SOWs and RFPs and oversaw the SDLC using a hybrid Waterfall and Agile approach. Controls and processes were implemented to meet SOX compliance requirements and the program documented streamlined workflows for Accounting, Finance, Procurement and Inventory Management to enhance business processes and operational efficiency.
