In 2016, Barrick Gold London implemented Oracle Cloud HCM to centralize Core HR capabilities across the organization. The deployment targeted Cloud HCM adoption to manage core workforce records and streamline recruit to pay processes for a UK organization of roughly 110 employees.
The implementation used Oracle Cloud HCM, referenced in project materials as Oracle HCM Fusion, and leveraged Oracle Cloud Infrastructure integration services to connect HCM with a non-Oracle ERP. Functional scope emphasized recruit to pay process orchestration and Core HR workflows, with integration architecture designed for end-to-end automation between recruiting and downstream transactional systems.
Vigilant Technologies served as the implementation partner and presented the solution alongside Oracle solution architects in a February 16 2022 webcast that included a live demo and technical Q&A. Project governance involved technical architects and project leads from Vigilant and Oracle, and the workstream explicitly aimed to save time and money while reducing project risk through automated integrations and consolidated Core HR processing.

In 2020, Barrick Gold London implemented SAP S/4 HANA - Asset Management as part of a broader SAP S/4HANA rollout to address Enterprise Asset Management across its global operations. The implementation was positioned to future-proof the business while enabling rapid integration of acquired companies and joint ventures, supporting Barrick's stated objectives of a single version of the truth, reduced complexity and improved operational synergies.
The SAP S/4 HANA - Asset Management implementation was configured alongside Finance, Capital and Supply Chain modules within SAP S/4HANA, aligning asset lifecycle management with capital project planning and procurement workflows. Functional capabilities emphasized in the deployment include asset master data consolidation, maintenance planning and scheduling, work order management, and integration of capital expenditure control into maintenance execution, reflecting standard Enterprise Asset Management practices.
Deployment scope began with the Nevada Gold Mines joint venture and extended to cover exploration activities, mine sites and joint ventures managed by Barrick in more than 15 countries, creating a unified operational backbone. Integration was executed natively within the SAP S/4HANA suite, enabling transactional and master data flows between Asset Management and Finance, Capital and Supply Chain modules to support real-time decision making and cost management.
Governance and rollout design prioritized minimizing disruption during acquisitions, standardizing maintenance and asset governance processes, and centralizing asset data to enable faster onboarding of newly acquired entities. The program was framed as a platform for future growth, delivering consolidated operational insight and enabling the business use of real-time information for cost control and strategic asset rationalization as articulated by Barrick leadership.
