In 2007 Bel UK began implementation of SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its core ERP Financial solution, initiating a UK rollout that went live on 1st June 2008. The program reported directly to the CEO of Bel UK Ltd and the Group Project Leader in Paris, and it was executed by a multidisciplinary UK team of seven responsible for delivering to time, cost and quality expectations.
SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was configured with a primary focus on finance and controlling, with the finance lead performing gap analysis workshops and attending most workshops across other SAP modules in a combined capacity. The implementation included finance master data migration activities and system localisation, and the team prepared and delivered end user training while matching SAP business roles to existing employees to align operational responsibilities.
The deployment involved a technical and data migration from IBM AS/400 into SAP ERP ECC 6.0, coordinated between the finance lead and the UK IT Manager. Operational coverage was UK-wide and cross-functional, impacting finance, controlling and HR processes, and the project required close collaboration with geographically dispersed stakeholders to manage expectations and engagement.
Governance was structured around reporting to a steering committee, the MCM and the project sponsor, with formal management of change requests, user acceptance testing and cutover planning. The project lead owned the timetable and the organisation of cutover, advised on go/no go decisions and provided go live and post implementation support to resolve issues.
Post go live the team addressed implementation issues and continued evolution of the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 environment to improve efficiency, while the finance key user role retained responsibility for ongoing localisation, change management and advising on potential role restructures driven by the new ERP Financial system.

In 2017, Bel UK deployed Microsoft Power BI as a core visualization and reporting layer for its Strategic Insights organization. Microsoft Power BI supports the Strategic Insights Senior Manager role and serves marketing and sales teams across the UK and DACH business units, positioned within the Analytics and BI portfolio to deliver consumer and shopper analytics for brand, category and innovation decisions.
The implementation emphasized enterprise report catalogs and reusable dashboard templates, including branded dashboards aligned to Brand Health Tracker, sales uplift and RGM templates produced by the SI Business Analytics group. Data modeling and semantic datasets were created to combine panel and syndicated market data, consumer research outputs and Excel pivot extracts, enabling interactive dashboards for brand performance, shopper path to purchase analysis, price and promotion analytics and concept test scorecards. Self-service report models and published datasets were used to standardize KPIs and accelerate local analysis.
Integrations explicitly included Excel as a primary data source and Teams and SharePoint for report distribution, collaboration and governance, alongside connections to panel and market data tools used by the SI team. Operational coverage targeted UK and DACH marketing and sales, with the Strategic Insights department acting as central analytics owner and coordinating with global SI teams in Suresnes and the Market Champions Director in Chicago. Power BI was used to localize and amplify global SI programs such as Brand Health Tracker, Always On Consumer Connect and Business Intelligence Trends Platforms through templated, localized reports.
Governance was organized around the SI Business Analytics group which maintained dataset definitions, report templates and training materials, while local Strategic Insights leads managed their portion of the SI budget and agency data partnerships. Rollout activities focused on upskilling local marketing and sales staff in Power BI driven self-service analytics, embedding templates and guidance in the Wikibel knowledge platform, and running workshops and learning agendas to turn research outcomes into actionable recommendations.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP Business Planning and Consolidation | EPM | EPM | n/a | 2008 | 2008 |
In 2008, Bel UK implemented SAP Business Planning and Consolidation as its EPM solution to support consolidated financial reporting and month end close processes. The deployment was positioned to centralize finance reporting and to deliver consolidated data to the group reporting chain.
SAP Business Planning and Consolidation was configured to manage financial consolidation, management reporting and planning workflows, with mappings from company general ledger and cost center structures to BPC dimensions. Configuration work included posting and validation of trade spend and marketing costs within the SAP environment before being interfaced for consolidation, consistent with EPM functional terminology for consolidation and reporting.
The implementation included a technical interface from SAP ECC 6.0 into SAP Business Planning and Consolidation to supply transactional and GL data to the Group Company consolidation process. Operational coverage touched multiple finance functions, specifically general ledger, purchase ledger, credit control, treasury and legal reporting, and it supported intercompany flows and working capital forecast reporting used by the finance team.
Governance and process responsibilities sat with the finance leadership and a small finance team of four, with the Financial Accountant acting as the primary contact for auditors and tax advisors and owning SAP year end closing, preparation of audit files and lead schedules, draft statutory accounts and corporation tax returns. Month end close in SAP and the ECC 6.0 to BPC interface were core elements of the reporting cadence, and the SAP Business Planning and Consolidation implementation directly supported those governance activities.
