In 2015 Benefis Health System deployed Cornerstone Saba Halogen Learning Management as a core element of a consolidated Learning and Development program across its HR and talent functions. The Cornerstone Saba Halogen Learning Management rollout was executed alongside Applicant Tracking and Employee Performance Management modules to centralize learning delivery, recruitment workflows, and performance appraisal processes for a 3200 employee regional health system.
The implementation configured the Learning Management System for role based course assignments, curricular paths for clinical and non clinical staff, training compliance tracking, and competency mapping, while Applicant Tracking and Employee Performance Management modules supported end to end hiring workflows and performance review cycles. Configuration work included course catalog structuring, automated enrollment rules, competency frameworks, and compliance reporting consistent with Learning and Development application patterns.
A parallel SSN Risk Remediation project addressed the capture, visibility, transmission and storage of social security numbers, with explicit remediation actions of elimination, view and print masking, and process improvement applied to onboarding and HR record handling. The remediation effort was integrated into data governance and IAM related processes to reduce sensitive data exposure within talent management workflows.
Project delivery used a Hybrid Scrum approach organized into 16 weekly sprints, with governance layered through HR, talent acquisition and learning leadership to manage configuration, testing and phased adoption. System selection activity noted Food Services POS, Gift Shop POS and Inventory Management as separate procurements concurrent with the HR systems program, indicating broader cross functional IT procurement activity during the deployment.

In 2019 Benefis Health System implemented Iatric MobiLab to strengthen bedside specimen collection workflows within its Electronic Health Record environment. The deployment targeted bedside barcode specimen collection and point-of-care label printing to address specimen labeling accuracy across nursing and laboratory touchpoints.
Iatric MobiLab was configured to support bedside scanning and label printing integrated with the facility MEDITECH environment, with the implementation emphasizing the Iatric MobiLab bedside scanning and label printing modules integrated to the laboratory information system and EHR. Configuration work focused on mobile device scanning at the point of care and direct print jobs to point-of-care label printers, aligning specimen capture with real-time patient identity verification and specimen labeling procedures.
Integrations were explicitly implemented with MEDITECH and the institution s LIS/EHR interfaces, enabling scanned specimen identifiers to flow into laboratory order and accessioning processes. Operational coverage included bedside nursing workflows and the central laboratory, aligning specimen collection events with electronic order records and downstream laboratory accessioning.
Governance changes centered on standardizing specimen collection procedures and instrumenting electronic verification steps at the bedside to replace manual labeling handoffs. Workflow restructuring emphasized nurse-driven point-of-care verification and printer-driven label generation to reduce handoff errors and enforce consistent labeling practices.
Outcomes reported from the implementation include elimination of mislabeled specimens and improved CAP inspection readiness, with Iatric MobiLab producing zero mislabeled specimens and strengthening laboratory inspection preparedness.
