In 2020, Best Buy Canada implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as its ERP Financial platform to centralize finance and revenue accounting workflows. The Oracle Cloud ERP implementation focused on core financial control and reporting capabilities and aligned with corporate accounting requirements for retail operations across stores, web channels, and distribution centers.
Oracle Cloud ERP was configured to support revenue accounting and ASC 606 revenue recognition procedures, deferred revenue and revenue deferral reporting, month end close automation, and warranty and services accounting tied to Geek Squad offerings. Functional workstreams included developing functional specifications for revenue deferral reports, designing journal and subledger flows to capture contract liabilities, and automating variance commentary and income statement reconciliations to reduce manual error and shorten reporting preparation time.
Operational coverage for the ERP Financial rollout encompassed finance, merchandising, warranty and service finance teams, and central intelligence analytics, with data consolidation from 160 stores, multiple distribution centers, and online channels informing accounting entries and reserve modeling. The implementation supported complex balance sheet reconciliations including inventory valuation reserves, sales return reserves, and unredeemed gift card liability calculations, reflecting close alignment between retail operational data and Oracle Cloud ERP financial ledgers.
Governance and process changes were driven by finance ownership through functional specification delivery, structured testing validations, and coordinated rollout with cross functional stakeholders. SOX related controls for inventory and month end reporting were reinforced, automation was used to decrease errors and streamline monthly reporting, and the program included iterative process development to support ongoing financial management of services, warranty, and marketplace revenue streams.

| HRsoft | Legacy | HRsoft COMPview | Compensation Management | HCM | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013 Best Buy Canada implemented HRsoft COMPview as its enterprise Compensation Management platform to centralize salary planning and compensation governance for its approximately 12,000 employees in Canada. The deployment targeted HR and Total Rewards functions, positioning HRsoft COMPview as the system of record for merit cycles, bonus allocation workflows, and pay band management.
Configuration emphasized standard Compensation Management capabilities, including salary planning workbooks, merit and bonus cycle configuration, manager approval workflows, calibration and rating distribution controls, and role based access for compensation analysts and people managers. The HRsoft COMPview implementation included reporting and export capabilities aligned to payroll and HR operations, and configuration of automation for cyclical compensation events and exception handling.
The environment integrated HRsoft COMPview with the ecosystem of HR and talent tools listed in program documentation, including PeopleSoft for employee master data and HR record synchronization, eQuest and LinkedIn Recruiter for candidate and offer context during compensation decision cycles, and Sterling Backcheck for pre hire verification references feeding candidate status. Collaboration and program governance used tools such as JIRA and Kanban Board for change tracking, Confluence for documentation, and Slack, Outlook, Skype for Business, and HipChat for stakeholder communications.
Governance was structured around formal approval flows and documented change requests, with HR operations owning system configuration and People Managers participating in calibrated compensation reviews. Rollout and ongoing administration were supported by the HR team using HRsoft COMPview alongside operational tooling, aligning compensation administration, approvals, and audit trails under a centralized Compensation Management framework.

| Salesforce | Legacy | Salesforce Field Service (ex ClickSoftware) | Field Service Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 Best Buy Canada deployed Salesforce Field Service (ex ClickSoftware) to operationalize Field Service Management across Contact and Call Centre, Appliance Concierge, Geek Squad Remote Support, and Geek Squad Field Services. The implementation was built on the Salesforce platform, integrating Service Cloud with Field Service Lightning to consolidate case intake, scheduling, and field execution workflows under a single CRM backbone. The deployment targeted Best Buy Canada retail and Geek Squad service operations within the country and emphasized a unified service experience across remote support and on site technician dispatch.
Salesforce Field Service (ex ClickSoftware) was configured to support core field service capabilities, including work order creation from Service Cloud cases, appointment booking, technician scheduling and dispatch, and mobile technician access to job details. The delivery emphasized configuration and automation inside Field Service Lightning to enforce consistent service processes for Appliance Concierge and Geek Squad Field Services, while preserving remote support workflows for Geek Squad Remote Support. Standard Field Service Management functional terminology such as work orders, service appointments, scheduling, dispatch, and mobile workforce enablement was applied to align business and IT expectations.
Integrations were focused on tight Service Cloud to Field Service Lightning data flows to carry case context into field assignments, and the engagement included collaboration with Traction on Demand as a partner on delivery. The project incorporated DevOps style end user support and continuous feedback loops from field technicians and call centre agents, enabling iterative refinements to configurations and automation rules. Operational coverage spanned customer contact, call centre routing, concierge booking, remote troubleshooting, and field execution, keeping the CRM and field scheduling layers synchronized.
Governance and delivery used an experienced agile model with active contribution across Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Development Team roles, supplemented by Release, Architecture, Security, and Business stakeholders. The CRM Solutions Architect role provided leadership across the three agile roles and direct DevOps support, which kept the solution architecture aligned with product and delivery trade off decisions. The ultimate outcome reported was an extremely positive response from business and IT, and the engagement was described as one of the most successful deliveries in the implementers career.
