In 2018, Binswanger implemented Sage Intacct as their ERP Financial system, replacing Sage 500 ERP formerly known as MAS 500, with RKL eSolutions serving as the system integrator. The project was framed as a modernization of accounting and project management processes to move core financials to cloud based software and reduce maintenance overhead from their previous customized on premise system.
The deployment centered on core accounting and financial reporting, project management, and time and expense tracking modules within Sage Intacct. Binswanger configured native document attachment and paperless workflows so project and accounting documents live alongside transactions, and they leveraged built in cash to accrual conversion and streamlined journal processing to reduce manual batch reopenings and correcting entries.
Architecturally the implementation consolidated previously fragmented third party point solutions into a single cloud application, enabling anywhere access through individual employee logins and auditor access via dedicated credentials. The migration eliminated a prior extract, transform, and reporting step that had been required with Sage 500, replacing it with Sage Intacct native reporting and real time transactional visibility for project and finance stakeholders.
RKL eSolutions led detailed requirements gathering, timeline development, and a methodical pre planning to go live approach, and the project delivered under budget according to the client. Reported outcomes from the engagement include a 30 percent improvement in efficiency attributed to cloud based access, paperless processes, and improved accuracy, faster financial reporting that moved from roughly an hour to seconds, and a materially easier audit experience with auditors accessing the system directly.
