| Esker SA | Legacy | Esker Accounts Receivable | AR Automation | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Blackbaud implemented Esker Accounts Receivable to strengthen its AR Automation capabilities across corporate finance and billing operations. The Esker Accounts Receivable deployment was part of a broader set of ancillary financial system implementations that supported the Workday Financials program and targeted accounts receivable, invoicing, and collections workflows.
The implementation configured Esker Accounts Receivable to automate invoice processing, accounts receivable aging, and collections orchestration, leveraging rule-based automation for contact data hygiene and exception routing. Implementation teams developed more than 40 reusable business rules to clean and harmonize customer data, and configured automated workflows to reduce manual review of account records.
Esker Accounts Receivable was integrated into a finance application landscape that included Workday for financials and ledger data, Salesforce for customer contact synchronization, and Vertex for tax exemption processing and certificate handling. The solution also operated alongside Esker Collection Management to hand off delinquent accounts and was coordinated with customer portal capabilities to centralize invoice delivery and contact updates.
Governance and process changes accompanied the technical rollout, including a cross-functional vendor solution assessment and an improved vendor onboarding process that reduced rework by 35 percent. A targeted Customer Invoice Contact initiative created a system of record fix between ERP and CRM, which remedied over 90 percent of accounts without manual review and decreased customer contacts caused by incorrect contact information. Additional controls included a GDPR system review and a rapid delete and update procedure established in under one month.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016, Blackbaud implemented Workday HCM as its Core HR platform. The 2016 program was a $4m implementation led by a 40-person implementation team that reported directly to the EVP of HR, covering more than 3,000 US and international employees.
Deployment centered on Workday HCM configuration for Core HR functions, with implemented modules for Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting/Talent Acquisition, Career Development, and Performance Management. The work included configuration of HR master data, position and job structures, talent workflows, and payroll and benefits administration consistent with Core HR deployments.
Operational coverage extended across US and international employee populations, unifying workforce recordkeeping and talent processes for HR, talent acquisition, and payroll operations. The program retired incumbent systems and consolidated data and administration into Workday HCM to simplify operational handoffs and reduce system fragmentation.
Governance was centralized under HR leadership, with the implementation team reporting to the EVP of HR, enabling coordinated rollout sequencing and change management across HR and payroll teams. The team structure supported configuration control, cutover planning, and staged adoption of recruiting, performance, and career development workflows.
Outcomes reported included freed man-hours, increased visibility into workforce processes, and over $2.5m in give back from the retired incumbent systems following the Workday HCM deployment. Workday HCM served as Blackbaud's Core HR solution, providing unified HR, payroll, and talent management functionality and establishing a single system of record for HR business functions.

| Certinia | Legacy | Certinia PSA (ex FinancialForce PSA) | Professional Services Automation | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2020 |
In 2019, Blackbaud implemented Certinia PSA (ex FinancialForce PSA) as its Professional Services Automation solution. The deployment focused on embedding project accounting and revenue recognition controls, with explicit development of percent complete calculations for time and materials and fixed price engagements.

Integration planning and execution centered on connecting Certinia PSA with Workday, Workday Adaptive, and adjacent financial workflows. Project teams developed integration strategies to exchange project financials and resource information between FinancialForce and Workday, and sales and territory planning activities were designed in Workday Adaptive to align go to market planning with project execution.
Governance and process work accompanied the technical implementation, with a centralized team driving requirements, configuration decisions, and cross functional coordination between services, finance, and sales planning. The engagement emphasized procedural alignment for project accounting, integration governance for system interfaces, and configuration change controls to sustain Certinia PSA as the authoritative system for project financials.
