AXIOM Systems Legacy AXIOM SolAce EMC Insurance Claims Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi implemented AXIOM SolAce EMC to enable electronic claims submission and inquiry. The deployment targeted provider-facing claims operations under the Insurance Claims Management category and was provisioned with vendor support from AXIOM Systems. AXIOM SolAce EMC was configured to manage electronic claims intake, a mailbox for EDI transmission, test transmission workflows, and support for claims status transactions. The implementation included enrollment of provider IDs and NPIs, configuration to receive Electronic Remittance Advices when requested, and mailbox setup coordination with the SolAce support team. Integrations were operationalized with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi EDI Services for submitter ID provisioning and production acceptance, including enrollment forms and verification workflows. Operational coverage encompassed provider offices and billing agencies submitting claims to BCBSMS, with enrollment and submitter provisioning required before production submissions. Governance procedures were formalized through a provider enrollment packet that required original signatures, completion of the Electronic Claims Information Worksheet, and mailing to BCBSMS EDI Services for processing. Processing expectations were communicated as approximately two weeks from receipt and a confirmation fax was used to notify readiness to begin filing claims electronically, followed by a test transmission appointment coordinated with SolAce support. Testing required a mailbox setup and a set of 25 representative test claims that must contain valid patient, procedure, diagnosis, and provider information, test claims are validated and not processed for payment. The AXIOM SolAce EMC implementation explicitly supported processing of 276 and 277 claim status transactions once enrollment and testing completed, and allowed providers to enroll to receive Electronic Remittance Advices.
