| FIS Global | Legacy | FIS Cross-Asset Trading and Risk Platform (ex Front Arena) | Trade Order Management System (TOMS) | Investment Management | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015, BlueCrest Capital implemented FIS Cross-Asset Trading and Risk Platform (ex Front Arena) as its Trade Order Management System (TOMS). The FIS Cross-Asset Trading and Risk Platform was central to a senior middle office and Security Operations program focused on corporate actions, dividend accrual and trade lifecycle orchestration across global portfolios managed from St Peter Port and London.
Implementation work emphasized corporate actions lifecycle management and automation, with configuration to handle equities, convertible bonds, repo, CFDs, OTC derivatives, fixed income and listed options. Key functional capabilities implemented included a refreshed dividend accrual system, automated mandatory corporate actions bookings for splits and stock dividends, automation of FX bookings for non deliverable currency dividend payments, trade capture and position management, booking workflows for bond and repo trades and settlement processing.
Operational integrations and coordination were explicit, including a SharePoint scheduling system developed, tested and deployed to increase transparency across corporate action events and coordinated updates with the Front Arena team for dividend accrual logic. Change events during the program included an administrator transition from HSBC to GlobeOp and fund liquidations, which required amendments to prime broker equity position reconciliations, cash and dividend reconciliations and PB pipe feeds, with daily interaction across London and New York teams, traders and portfolio managers.
Governance and process workstreams focused on change management, daily workload distribution to the London team and support function in New York, formalized communication channels to traders and portfolio managers for voluntary election sourcing, and daily prime broker reconciliations and static data controls. Stock loan risk was managed through agreed returns with the equity financing and securities lending desks, and risk reporting responsibilities were maintained for senior management and trading desks. Outcomes explicitly recorded in project notes included increased transparency and reduced risk, greater efficiency through automation and elimination of manual booking risk, and streamlined workflows for non deliverable dividend FX processing.

The deployment is operated in a full DevOps model managed from London, with the engineering team running two week sprints for production delivery, performance tuning of the full Calypso application stack, and support for batch processes. Architectural work includes a proof of concept for containerisation of the Calypso stack and the introduction of Elastic stack monitoring for enhanced operational telemetry. Integrations explicitly implemented include FIX connections with external brokers to support trade flow and clearing workflows, and the instance supports both front office and back office business functions along with regulatory reporting pipelines.
Governance is centered on an internal technical Calypso forum shared with other buy-side firms, centralized prioritization of front and back office requirements, and an engineering-led DevOps support structure that covers all lines of support, custom reports, tasks, and workflow configuration. BlueCrest Capital’s NASDAQ Calypso Collateral deployment emphasizes standard release cadence, collaboration with infrastructure teams for performance optimization, and continuous development and monitoring for all Calypso users.
