In 2021, Bodycote implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform. The S/4 HANA engagement began in March 2021 and focuses on consolidating core finance and accounting processes across the manufacturing group.
The implementation configured core financial modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, cash and bank management, and financial close and reporting workflows. Configuration emphasized ledger consolidation and statutory reporting capabilities native to SAP S/4 HANA. Embedded analytics and real time financial ledgers were used to standardize reporting and close cadence.
The technical architecture centers on SAP S/4 HANA running on the SAP HANA in memory database to enable transactional performance and operational reporting. Development and extension work was supported by expert development consulting resources recorded between April 2018 and September 2021, with active client implementation activity noted from March 2021. The project scope addressed chart of accounts harmonization and master data governance to prepare finance for the S/4 HANA data model.
Governance changes included formalized financial process workflows, role based access control for finance users, and a phased cutover plan starting in 2021 to manage configuration, testing, and go live activities. Training and development focused on embedding S/4 HANA accounting procedures into day to day finance operations.

In 2013, Bodycote implemented ADP Enterprise eTIME (OEM Kronos Workforce Central) for Time and Attendance across its North America HR operations. The deployment was managed from an Employee Services Department within the Shared Services Group, led by a seven person team that directed HR systems, benefits, and payroll operations while establishing the shared services model that was subsequently implemented in the Prague Shared Service Center.
The ADP Enterprise eTIME implementation encompassed timekeeping configuration, system requirement design, and ongoing modification of workflows to support multi-frequency payroll processing, including bi-weekly US and Canada payroll, semi-monthly Mexico payroll, and weekly payroll cycles for US and Mexico. System responsibilities included defining business requirements for three regional timekeeping systems, specifically ADP e-time for the US, ezLabor for Canada, and Kronos for Mexico, and providing project management and system integration into the broader HR, benefit, and payroll application set.
Integrations and operational coverage were explicitly managed, with vendor management responsibilities for ADP and Mercer Market Place and a strong emphasis on interface management. The program was a key contributor to the Workday Global Project Team with a focus on payroll integrations, and it supported senior and junior HR business partners on policy and procedure alignment while owning monthly HR and payroll reporting for operational management and finance partners.
Governance and rollout activities included identifying end user training needs and delivering required training, developing and implementing system requirements and workflows, and leading the integration of three mergers and acquisitions totaling over 300 people into Bodycote’s HR, payroll, and benefit programs. The implementation also established recurring operational controls, including monthly HR/payroll activity metrics and annual budget templates provided to the Controller and vice presidents, reinforcing centralized governance for Time and Attendance and payroll interfaces.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Power BI | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2022 | 2022 |
In 2022, Bodycote implemented Microsoft Power BI to centralize enterprise reporting and enable self-service analytics across business teams. The Microsoft Power BI deployment served as the corporate Analytics and BI platform to provision datasets and dashboards for manufacturing operations and corporate functions.
The implementation emphasized dataset design and front-end development, delivering Power BI datasets, semantic data models, and report layer configuration. Core capabilities implemented included dataset provisioning for ad hoc reporting, data profiling and cleansing, complex SQL-backed transformations, and dataset refresh optimization to reduce reporting latency, with a designated Power BI Admin role to manage uptime and performance.
Data integration work consolidated fields from multiple ERP and operational systems into consolidated tables and data marts, creating Power BI datasets on Snowflake datamarts and supporting data warehouse patterns based on Azure blob storage. The delivery included ETL development to extract, transform, and load data, schema and KPI mapping into consumable datasets, and execution of unit, QA, and test scripts to validate data quality.
Governance and rollout included an intake and prioritization workflow routed through directors and scrum masters, leading user acceptance testing and training for business users, and documenting both business requirements and technical data requirements. The program prioritized enabling regional business teams for self-service reporting while embedding dataset governance and change control into ongoing delivery and support processes.
