In 2006 Bosch Rexroth implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial platform, establishing a central SAP ERP backbone for finance and related business functions. Separately, Bosch Sicherheitssysteme GmbH, a Robert Bosch subsidiary, executed a focused authorization redesign on its central SAP ERP system beginning in September 2015 using the Xiting Authorizations Management Suite from Xiting AG, a project covering roughly 1,200 users and constrained to a six month delivery window.
The redesign centered on automated role construction and authorization hardening within SAP ERP ECC 6.0, using the Xiting Role Designer to capture real user processes and generate virtual role proposals. Role content was validated against internal segregation of duties policies, DSAG test guidelines, and SAP best practices, while SU24 clean up and automated population of authorization objects and values prepared roles for technical import.
Custom code and integrations were assessed with Xiting ABAP Alchemist which inspected source code for missing authorization checks in Z transactions, specifying required checks to ensure correct data access controls. The project used a productive test simulation driven by the Xiting Role Builder and Xiting Times tools, enabling protected go-live where legacy roles remained available in the background and business divisions carried out minimal test effort. A cost center authorizations generator automated role adjustments when cost center attributes changed, mapping dynamic cost center processes onto role entitlements.
Governance was restructured to favor automated, repeatable role maintenance using the Xiting Authorizations Management Suite, with verification workflows and test simulations embedded into go-live procedures. The effort reduced the number of roles from about 2,000 to around 120, delivered in six months under a fixed schedule and price with Xiting AG, and enabled Bosch Sicherheitssysteme GmbH to manage authorizations sustainably while achieving a clear ROI over the course of the project.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP HCM (HR) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2009 | 2010 |
In 2009, Bosch Rexroth implemented SAP HCM in the Core HR category. The deployment of SAP HCM targeted core human resources capabilities with a clear emphasis on recruiting and personnel selection workflows within Bosch Rexroth's HR organization.
SAP HCM was configured to support recruiting processes including candidate tracking, placement of job advertisements, and personnel administration, aligning applicant intake with employee master data and onboarding records. The implementation utilized SAP HCM recruitment and HR master data capabilities to standardize selection, job posting workflows, and organizational assignment within HR operations.
Recruiting operations documented in employee profiles indicate concurrent use of applicant tracking tools such as SmartRecruiters alongside SAP HCM, suggesting operational co-usage for job ad distribution and selection support rather than a declared technical integration. Operational scope focused on HR and recruiting teams responsible for selection processes and job advertisement placement across Bosch Rexroth sites.
Governance emphasized HR process standardization and centralized personnel records inside SAP HCM, with rollouts concentrated on recruiting and personnel administration processes to embed consistent selection and job posting procedures. The implementation therefore connected Bosch Rexroth SAP HCM Core HR to the business functions of Talent Acquisition, HR Administration, and recruiting operations.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP Field Service Management | Field Service Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2023 | 2023 |
In 2023, Bosch Rexroth implemented SAP Field Service Management to consolidate disparate country and business unit service tools into a single pilot template. The Field Service Management deployment targeted real-time scheduling, skills-based technician dispatch, and seamless mobile access to customer and service history to improve response times and customer experience.
Implementation delivered core modules including skills-based scheduling, routing and resource allocation, mobile technician workflows with timesheet capture, guided service checklists that feed sales lead data, and self-service appointment and job-tracking portals. SAP Field Service Management was configured to reduce manual time entry by capturing hours on mobile devices, enabling immediate availability of service data for invoicing and shortening reporting cycles from weeks to days.
Integration architecture emphasized non-invasive ERP connectivity and CRM handoff, without requiring changes to existing back-end ERP systems. Automated booking and an interface that transfers guided lead data into the customer relationship management tool were implemented, while mobile apps and remote expert collaboration channels provided technicians on site with access to customer databases, service history, and expert support.
Operational scope spanned multiple countries and business units, delivered initially as a pilot to establish a common Field Service Management template and harmonize execution across regions. Governance prioritized standardization to meet local regulations and legal requirements, enforcing common quality standards and standardized workflows. Bosch Rexroth reported increased workforce productivity, positive customer feedback on digitalized service, reduced manual reporting effort, and notable growth in revenue generation driven by guided lead capture integrated into the FSM workflows.
