Emineo served as the system integrator and contributed to both the SAP ERP 6.0 deployment and an innovation proof of concept. The POC used SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Conversational AI and SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation to create a chat bot front end and automate interactions between the conversational interface, the SAP ERP core and the debt collection add-on, enabling self-service initiation of payment condition changes. Governance and process restructuring moved customer-facing payment negotiation actions from the finance department to site project managers, establishing a documented chat bot driven workflow within SAP ERP ECC 6.0. Explicit outcomes recorded in the implementation include project managers executing payment condition changes without finance department involvement and all agreements being documented in the SAP ERP core-system, supporting objectives around reducing administrative effort, solving internal dependencies and presenting one face to the customer.

The operational scope affected project management teams initiating payment condition agreements and the finance processes that were consequently removed from the manual approval path, while customers received the necessary payment documentation directly. The implementation referenced support from Emineo as system integrator and included SAP Innovation Services and SAP Innovative Business Solutions during deployment. Governance and workflow restructuring centralized the initiation of payment condition changes to project managers through the chat interface, preserving auditability by recording all changes in the SAP ERP core-system. The financial department was no longer involved in issuing revised payment conditions, the project manager workflow became a self-service channel, and customer-facing communications were produced as part of the automated ERP transaction stream. The deployment was live for SAP ERP financials while the SAP Conversational AI and robotic automation elements remained at proof of concept stage.
