SAP Legacy SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial ERP n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, Briggs & Stratton implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP Financial system. The deployment used a single stack SAP Process Orchestration architecture, combining SAP PO 7.4 and 7.5 for integration and message orchestration with SAP S/4 HANA. The SAP S/4 HANA implementation focused on Financial modules and controls typical of the ERP Financial category, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Controlling, and treasury related capabilities. The project included building the SAP PO 7.5 system from scratch, assisting BASIS teams on required configuration and components, and creating security roles and infrastructure following recommended integration best practices. Integration scope linked SAP S/4 HANA to Ariba, Concur, SuccessFactors, OpenText, third party logistics partners, HR and payroll partners, banks, and external customers. Integration patterns and adapters documented and implemented included SAP BPM, BRM, IFLOWS, B2B EDI adapters, Seeburger adapters, AS2 adapters, API based interfaces, REST, SOAP, web services and EDI module flows to orchestrate transactions between SAP S/4 HANA and external systems. Governance and operational processes were established using Solution Manager for development, testing and deployment workflows, with SAP PO guides developed for development and training. The integration team retained end to end ownership of PO object lifecycle from requirements through deployment, conducting PO IT test cycles, validating system readiness, and assisting business and ABAP teams in complex integration scenarios and testing.
