The deployment centralized manufacturing, supply chain, finance, order to cash and procurement functions into a single cloud instance, with the universal journal established as the single source of truth for financials across the enterprise. AWS infrastructure work scaled the environment to support a 12 terabyte single system and enabled database compression from 23 terabytes to 4.5 terabytes to optimize performance. Fiori visualization dashboards were configured to provide real time reporting and to accelerate operational reporting such as obsolescence runs that moved from eight hours to under one minute.
Change governance involved Accenture's Talent and Organization group working with BMS change leads to map capability impacts, update select processes and deliver targeted user training for the new technical structure and workflows. User adoption efforts focused on new workflows, Fiori based user experiences and group reporting capabilities to improve transparency and decision making across brands and product hierarchies.
The program achieved zero business disruption at go live, with the system stabilized and fully effective at cutover, and now provides a foundation to adopt artificial intelligence, machine learning and real time predictive analytics.
