Sample TextBritish Airways is a full-service global airline, offering year-round low fares with an extensive global route network flying to and from centrally-located airports. British Airways is the UK's largest international scheduled airline, flying to nearly 600 destinations around the world. In 2016 British Airways decided to refresh their Financial management systems, by implementing and upgrading some of the software they use for some time. By implementing SAP S/4 HANA in 2017 they've strengthened 10 Business Blueprints for Enterprise Structure and Master Data, General Ledger & Journal Entry Process, Fixed & Intangible Assets Accounting, Account Reconciliation, Intercompany & Intergroup, Period & Year End Closing, Tax Accounting & Reporting, Projects & Investment Accounting and Financial Consolidation.
Besides the SAP solution, British Airways put resources into Microsoft Dynamics 365. Microsoft has bagged a major cloud deal with the International Airlines Group (IAG) to provide 58,000 users with its online productivity suite Office 365. IAG, the parent company of British Airways and Iberia, will use the product to boost business communication and collaboration. It also said it hopes the cloud deployment will help staff within the British Airways, Iberia, IAG Cargo and Avios divisions work together with greater ease.
The company was particularly keen to improve internal communication and collaboration through the use of social tools, which Microsoft offers with its enterprise social platform Yammer. This offering will be used by British Airways and Iberia to help tackle customer feedback, and respond to market changes better.
