Capture Legacy Capture DAM Digital Asset Management Content Management n/a 2023 2023
In 2023 British Pathé upgraded its archive to Capture DAM, implementing Capture's all-in-one Digital Asset Management platform that combines DAM, rights management, and eCommerce capabilities. The announcement noted this extension of Capture’s existing relationship in the United Kingdom, with a primary goal to centralise asset control for historical video collections and licensing workflows. Capture DAM was configured to centralise video asset management and to modernise the front-end and back-end licensing experience, explicitly adding rights and eCommerce functionality to support licensing self-service. Configuration work focused on cataloging and metadata normalization, searchable video proxies, and role based access controls to align archival curation with commercial licensing processes. Operational coverage targeted British Pathé’s archive operations and commercial licensing teams, streamlining the path from asset discovery to transaction. The integrated rights and eCommerce modules were used to reduce manual handoffs between curation and sales processing, enabling end users to complete licensing transactions through self-service workflows. Governance changes consolidated asset stewardship and licensing policy enforcement inside the Capture DAM environment and formalized cataloging and rights workflows to control usage terms. The deployment was announced in 2023 and the vendor reported that the move centralised video asset management, improved licensing self-service, reduced internal maintenance effort, and increased commercial efficiency.
