In 2024, Burness Paull implemented Workday Absence Management as part of a Workday Phase 1 HCM program. The rollout covered HCM Core, Core Compensation and Absence modules and targeted an HR transformation across three locations in Scotland. The deployment is categorized under Absence and Leave Management and provides centralized absence tracking and leave administration for the firm.
The program configured Workday Absence Management capabilities typical for the category, including absence types, entitlement and accrual rules, balance tracking and absence request approval workflows. A dedicated data migration workstream was led from phase 0 to the successful phase 1 go live, with a Data Migration Lead contracted from March 2024 to August 2024 who built and managed a full ETL solution. That ETL solution performed record mapping, cleansing and reconciliation to provision employee absence records into Workday Absence Management.
Operational integration focused on aligning Absence Management with HCM Core and Core Compensation to ensure payroll and workforce data consistency. The implementation impacted HR and payroll business functions across the three Scottish locations and was executed with remote delivery for the migration workstream. Invisors served as the system integrator supporting program delivery and cutover activities.
Governance emphasized phased cutover controls and data governance tied to the migration workstream, culminating in a successful phase 1 go live in 2024. Workday Absence Management is now embedded as the Absence and Leave Management application supporting Burness Paull's HR absence processes.
