In 2015 Butali implemented IBM Domino as its Collaboration platform. The deployment anchored corporate messaging and Domino application services for Butali S.p.A., providing a central collaboration layer for employees across its Arezzo headquarters and retail operations in Italy.
IBM Domino was configured to support mail services, Domino application databases, and directory integrated authentication, with Active Directory used for identity and access control. Operational responsibilities documented by customer sources indicate ongoing system administration and maintenance by Butali’s internal IT staff in Arezzo, covering server management, user provisioning, and patching.
The implementation established an operations model where the internal IT system administrator performed maintenance, identity integration with Active Directory, and lifecycle support for Domino applications. Governance emphasized IT operations based in Arezzo, including configuration management, backup routines, and user account workflows, enabling companywide Collaboration across retail and corporate teams.

In 2022 Butali implemented ARXivar Document Management to dematerialize the entire goods delivery cycle and centralize delivery documentation under a single container. The company sought to address missing documents, extensive archival time, and long search times caused by paper-based processes across approximately 50 transporters that supply its points of sale and franchised shops, and the implementation emphasized device-agnostic access for field and store users.
ARXivar Document Management was configured to capture and index delivery notes and proof of delivery, consolidate storage in a central repository, and enable full-text search and metadata-driven retrieval. The configuration prioritized mobile capture and browser access to ensure transporters and store personnel could upload and retrieve documents from any device, and workflows were defined to manage the document lifecycle from capture through archival.
Data Proget acted as the implementation partner while Able Tech supplied ARXivar Document Management, coordinating the technical deployment and on-site integrations required to extend document flows to transporters, distribution points, and franchised stores. The implementation connected capture endpoints and store access points into the centralized ARXivar repository, establishing consistent indexing and retention handling across operational nodes.
Governance focused on standardized document indexing, access controls, and operational processes to support a single source of truth for goods delivery documentation. The rollout established new operating routines for logistics and store operations personnel to use ARXivar Document Management as the primary system for delivery documentation and evidence handling.
