Intuit Legacy Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise ERP Financial ERP x 2008 2008
In 2008, C-A-L Ranch Stores implemented Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise as its ERP Financial application. The deployment established a single financial management platform to centralize core accounting functions and align retail finance operations under the Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise system. Configuration work emphasized standardization of the chart of accounts, general ledger consolidation, accounts payable automation, and accounts receivable workflows, with inventory valuation and sales invoicing configured to support retail transaction flows. Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise was provisioned for multi-user access and role-based permissions, and reporting templates were implemented to produce consistent period-end financial statements and operational reports. Operational coverage focused on corporate finance and store-level accounting activities, enabling standardized month-end close procedures and consistent billing and payables processes across the business. Governance controls were embedded through user access roles and audit trails inside Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise to support internal control and compliance for the retailer.

Epicor Legacy Epicor Eagle Retail Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2019 2019
In 2019 C-A-L Ranch Stores implemented Epicor Eagle as its Retail Management platform. Epicor Eagle N Series serves as the company ERP for point of sale, inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting, and it centrally ties transaction detail back to the general ledger for store-level financial visibility. C-A-L Ranch Stores Epicor Eagle Retail Management supports store POS terminals configured to accept up to 10 alternate tender types in addition to standard credit card processing. Inventory control is configured to use the average cost method so receiving transactions flow cost adjustments through to the general ledger, and the deployment leverages the built-in accounting package to reconcile sales, cost of goods sold, and tax postings. Operational coverage includes every store in the retail chain, with daily sales, inventory receiving, and vendor payments recorded at the transactional level. The organization uses the Compass reporting system to pull a variety of operational and month-end reports and exports data from Compass to construct financial statements using Excel macros due to limits in the built-in financial reporting output. Go-live included formal training, users reported a learning curve for some features, and the rollout required operational adoption across almost every department. The customer reported labor efficiency improvements and cited estimated savings of 30 to 40 percent in labor efficiency and up to 40 percent reductions in various labor costs, along with improved inventory visibility, faster turnover, and lower exceptions while noting that data-intensive report runs can temporarily bog down the system.
