The implementation integrated with and drew data from operational datasets such as CalWIMS and WellSTAT for well production, injection, and water quality parameters, enabling filtered extractions and joined spatial tables for UIC and aquifer exemption submissions. Esri Arcgis outputs were used to prepare technical deliverables for internal review and external coordination, including meetings with operators, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the State Water Board.
Governance centered on using Esri Arcgis as the core geospatial source for permit review workflows, tracking progress of UIC projects, and directing area of review and aquifer exemption duties to staff engineering geologists. The platform supported issuance of permits for approved projects, preparation of public hearing materials, and stamped technical documents used in regulatory submissions.
