In 2019, Cambia Health implemented Workday Financial Management as an ERP Financial solution to centralize core finance and procurement processes across its organization. Implementation activities covered functional configuration, creation of calculated fields and advanced custom reports, data validation and tenant migrations across implementation, Gold and Production tenants, plus day to day support for payroll GL, procurement and business assets.
Architecturally the project leveraged Workday cloud tenants with integrations developed using EIB templates, Core Connectors, Workday Studio and Document Transformations. Integrations used XML and XSLT transformations, sequence generators and secure file delivery to SFTP, supported SOAP based testing using WSDL and SOAPUI and relied on Workday APIs for exchanging HCM and financial data with third party systems.
Governance and rollout included coordinated unit testing, integration testing and UAT of supervisory organizations, matrix organizations, cost centers and location hierarchies, with structured validation and data load processes for each tenant. Operational support emphasized integration maintenance, custom report upkeep and ongoing configuration changes to align finance, payroll and procurement workflows under the ERP Financial application.

In 2016 Cambia Health implemented Cognizant TriZetto Facets as its Core Admin Processing System to centralize claims adjudication, EDI processing, and state specific underwriting needs. Cognizant TriZetto Facets served as the primary platform for core and extension requirements, with both Facets native modules and Non Facets Elements used to capture business required data not present in the core application.
The implementation included configuration of claims validation workflows to support HIPAA 5010, ICD 10 code sets, and X12 5010 transaction standards, and it incorporated a strategy for developing and implementing new EDI interfaces. Functional workstreams addressed EDI X12 and HL7 message flows, MMIS Third Party Liability processing, Medicare and Medicaid claims testing including crossover scenarios, and mapping for data feeds and XML integrations to preserve clinical and administrative data fidelity.
Integrations and technical artifacts were explicitly managed, including HL7 interface development, EDI companion guide reviews for payer edit integrity, XML data mappings, and conversion of historical clinical data. Development and testing environments used Team Foundation Server and Microsoft Test Manager for defect tracking and test case maintenance, SharePoint 2007 for collaboration, and Rational tools for UML and OO discovery to define component level designs for the Cognizant TriZetto Facets deployment.
Governance and rollout was structured through weekly policy and procedures meetings, joint application design sessions to capture business flows and HIPAA EDI implications, and agile delivery practices using Scrum Work Pro to maintain product backlog and sprint backlog artifacts. A project steering committee approved action plans developed from business impact assessments against HIPAA 5010, and JAD sessions plus stakeholder interviews were used to finalize requirements and companion guide alignments.
Deliverables included an EDI interface development strategy, MMIS TPL subsystem implementation, comprehensive companion guide and payer contact listings, and mechanisms to incorporate Non Facets Elements for state customizations and underwriting needs. NFE proved to be of major business importance in addressing requirements not encompassed by the core Facets system, and compliance planning and test scenarios were produced to align Cognizant TriZetto Facets with CMS and HIPAA regulations.
