UKG Legacy UKG Workforce Central (ex Kronos Workforce Central) Workforce Management HCM n/a 2010 2010
In 2010, Canadian Air Transport Security Authority administered and developed UKG Workforce Central (ex Kronos Workforce Central) as its Workforce Management time management suite. The effort centered on ongoing administration, deployment and development of UKG Workforce Central to support organizational time capture and workforce scheduling. Functional work included configuration of core time and attendance capture, exception and approval workflows, and schedule management, aligned with standard Workforce Management capabilities. Implementation activities emphasized timekeeping rules, shift templates and exports suitable for payroll processing, reflecting configuration and operational support for HR and operations workforce functions. The UKG Workforce Central deployment operated alongside Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 following a CRM4 to CRM2011 migration, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010 and System Center Configuration Manager used for operating system provisioning across the region, Cognos BI and Informatica PowerCenter for reporting and ETL, and SharePoint 2010 for content and collaboration. Administration and deployment responsibilities indicate centralized technical ownership with change control applied to application updates, OS provisioning and BI data feeds. UKG Workforce Central was thus administered as part of an integrated application estate to support HR and operations workforce processes.

Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Power BI Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2011 2018
In 2011, Canadian Air Transport Security Authority deployed Microsoft Power BI within an Analytics and BI initiative to surface Enterprise Project Management System reporting. The Enterprise Project Management System manages the schedule, resource and budget for more than 200 projects, and the reports produced from that environment are the primary source used by the Budget Implementation Committee to manage the budget. The implementation encompassed report development and server components, with EPMS reports designed and developed using SQL Server Reporting Services 2012 on Windows Server 2012. A dimensional de-normalized central reporting database model was created on SQL Server 2012, and Microsoft Power BI was integrated into the reporting layer to provide interactive visualization consistent with Analytics and BI workflows. Data movement and semantic modeling were implemented using SQL Server Integration Services 2012 for nightly ETL, T SQL for data cleansing and automation, and SQL Server Analysis Services to deliver an OLAP cube and Tabular Model. The team created KPIs within the SSAS models and exported the SSAS cube to Excel for portability, while also building a PowerView HR report using the Tabular Model and DAX, and configuring workbook data auto refresh for workbooks deployed to SharePoint. Operational governance and resilience were addressed through a DEV to Testing to Production migration path for cubes and reports, documentation of design and development artifacts, routine logging and auto restarting for SSIS packages, and use of database Snapshot technology for fault tolerance and data recovery. Automation and manageability were furthered by PowerShell scripts for SQL Server management, CLR functions in C# for advanced processing needs, and use of VM Ware to accelerate development and testing cycles. The deployment tied Microsoft Power BI and related Microsoft BI components directly to enterprise budgeting and project oversight, with Analytics and BI outputs consumed by the Budget Implementation Committee and HR stakeholders. Reporting and cube artifacts were published to a SharePoint 2013 site configured for PowerBI, PowerPivot, PowerView and Excel Service, while Tableau was also used as an alternate visualization tool against the Microsoft SSAS cube.
