| SAP | Legacy | SAP Concur Expense | Expense Management | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2010 | 2010 |
In 2010 CareerBuilder implemented SAP Concur Expense as a cloud-based Expense Management platform to consolidate travel, expense, invoicing, and purchase request workflows. The deployment was positioned as a unified travel and expense management solution that replaced a fragmented set of processes, and it was delivered as a cloud service with mobile-first functionality to support a travel-heavy workforce.
The implementation configured core modules for expense reporting, Concur travel booking, invoicing workflow consolidation, purchase request submission, mobile expense capture, and reporting and compliance dashboards. SAP Concur Expense ran as the primary point of entry for bookings, expense submissions, approvals, and reimbursements, and CareerBuilder extended the platform to cover wellness reimbursements and other payment-related workflows to centralize reimbursements and approvals.
Operational coverage included companywide expense reporting for all 3,000 employees and targeted travel support for roughly 1,500 regular business travelers, reflecting the needs of a heavy sales organization. Integrations focused on consolidating invoicing and approval processes that had previously been handled in separate systems, and the cloud architecture served as an aggregator for financial and travel booking data to feed monitoring and reporting for divisional compliance.
Governance and process restructuring emphasized consistent approval paths, centralized reporting, and monitoring to drive compliance and accountability across divisions. CareerBuilder reported tangible operational outcomes that were captured during the deployment, including mobile-driven reductions in booking and expense filing time, elimination of daily invoice errors, and a significant reduction in full-time equivalent effort for expense and invoicing processing. IDC classified CareerBuilder at a stage 3 maturity for travel and expense management, reflecting purpose-built mobile and cloud capabilities within the Expense Management category.

In 2000, CareerBuilder implemented CareerBuilder Jobs.net ATS, an Applicant Tracking System, as its internal recruiting platform. CareerBuilder uses CareerBuilder Jobs.net ATS to manage job postings and applicant intake through its corporate application portal, consolidating recruiting activity for HR and talent acquisition functions across its United States operations. The deployment is the company operating its own product as the primary internal ATS system rather than an external vendor solution.
The implementation configures standard Applicant Tracking System functional modules including job requisition management, resume upload and parsing, candidate tracking, interview scheduling, and configurable hiring workflows. Integration surfaces are centered on the corporate application portal and built in resume upload flows, while governance is managed by centralized HR with role based access controls and automated approval routing to support recruiters and hiring managers. CareerBuilder Jobs.net ATS is the operational system of record for internal hiring activities and is used to instrument recruiting processes and candidate lifecycle management.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP Concur Travel | Travel Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2010 | 2010 |
In 2010, CareerBuilder implemented SAP Concur Travel as its Travel Management platform. The cloud-based deployment consolidated travel booking, expense reporting, invoicing, and purchase-request workflows and supports 1,500 regular business travelers and expense reporting for all 3,000 employees, with an average of 12 to 15 expense reports per employee annually and five to ten trips per traveler each year.
Prior to implementing SAP Concur Travel, CareerBuilder operated three separate processes for travel, invoicing, and expense management, using Orbitz for Business for bookings, an imaging system for invoicing, and spreadsheet-based purchase requests. The implementation configured Concur Travel and Concur Expense capabilities to centralize booking, receipts capture, expense report submission, and reimbursement processing, and the platform was extended to handle wellness reimbursements and other payment-related workflows.
The deployment emphasized mobility and cloud delivery as core functional differentiators, with Concur mobile apps used extensively for booking and approvals. Booking time fell from roughly 15 minutes to 5 to 7 minutes, and expense report preparation fell from 30 to 60 minutes down to 5 to 10 minutes, reflecting mobile-enabled workflow automation, receipt capture, and guided policy enforcement.
Governance and operational changes included centralized reporting and monitoring led by the travel director, higher policy compliance because over 90 percent of trips were booked through the platform, and a shift in finance headcount from transactional processing to analysis. Invoice errors that averaged five per day were eliminated, expense processing headcount was reduced from two full-time resources to half of one person, and accounts payable headcount moved from three to half of one while enabling one FTE to focus on spend analysis.
