In 2021 Carter Electric implemented MyGeotab to support its Fleet Management operations. The initial deployment focused on instrumenting the Apopka, FL warehouse delivery fleet and delivery drivers, bringing vehicle tracking into day to day warehouse and logistics workflows.
The MyGeotab deployment emphasized core fleet management capabilities including vehicle telematics, real time GPS tracking, odometer and service interval monitoring, route scheduling and dispatch support, and maintenance due date alerts. Configuration centered on delivering vehicle status and service interval visibility to warehouse staff responsible for route planning and maintenance coordination.
MyGeotab was operated alongside existing tool tracking software, FLEETIO, and SAGE workflows, with vehicle availability and next maintenance service date information used by the warehouse team to schedule deliveries and repairs. The solution supported coordination between the warehouse, delivery drivers, and project management for receiving and delivering materials, without replacing named internal inventory applications.
Operational governance was led by the Warehouse Logistics Manager, who from March 2021 to August 2021 managed daily operations, configured telematics alerts, developed efficient delivery routes, and trained warehouse staff and delivery drivers on using MyGeotab data. The implementation centralized vehicle status and maintenance visibility within Carter Electric Fleet Management processes, enabling consistent use of telematics data for scheduling and fleet upkeep.
