In 2013 Celio deployed SAP Business Suite to consolidate its retail and financial operations, using the solution to deliver ERP Financial capabilities across the group. The project was directed from the scoping phase through to deployment, with explicit program leadership coordinating business process owners and technical contributors.
The implementation encompassed ECC retail, FI, CO, COPA, MM, SD running on HANA with BW for reporting and analytics, and POS-DM on HANA for point of sale data management. SAP Business Suite components were configured to support retail merchandising, supply chain procurement, inventory control, sales order processing, and financial closing workflows.
Functional coverage included unification of accounting and controlling for 24 group companies, centralized management of purchasing and international supply flows, inventory management, distribution to subsidiary stores, support for franchised sales, and store back office operations. POS-DM was deployed to capture in-store transactions and feed retail data into ECC retail and the FI/CO ledgers to support unified financial posting and reporting.
Program governance combined a central project direction with contributions from 120 participants including BPO resources, KU, and consulting staff, and included the rollout of SAP MiM to 750 owned points of sale. The implementation established a single SAP Business Suite ERP Financial backbone across Celio s retail footprint and aligned master data, accounting, and controlling processes across the group.

The engagement covered SAP Retail as the primary application, with an explicit deployment strategy that centralized retail transaction processing and store back office functions under a unified SAP footprint.
The technical implementation included ECC retail alongside financial modules FI, CO and COPA, and logistics modules MM and SD, running on SAP HANA and instrumented with BW for reporting. Point of sale data management was executed with POS-DM on HANA, and the rollout included SAP MiM deployed into the 750 company owned points of sale, consolidating store level merchandise and transaction flows.
Functionally the implementation redefined core business processes across purchasing, international supply flows, inventory management, distribution to subsidiary stores, franchisee sales and store back office operations. The program explicitly targeted unification of accounting and controlling for the group, standardizing financial close and management accounting across 24 legal entities within the Celio group.
Program governance and delivery were run with a 120 person contributor base including BPO resources, knowledge users and consulting staff, covering project management from the framing phase through cutover and store deployments. Rollout emphasis was on application configuration, master data harmonization and operational cutover to SAP Retail and SAP MiM across the owned store network, while consolidating shared financial and controlling processes at group level.
