In 2020, Cepac implemented SAP Business One to centralize financial operations and support site-level accounting at its flagship manufacturing location. The deployment focused on SAP Business One as an ERP Financial platform to consolidate daily bank reconciliations, month end reporting, and intercompany accounting across the site and group reporting processes.
SAP Business One was configured to support core financial modules consistent with an ERP Financial implementation, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash management and bank reconciliation functionality, intercompany transaction processing, VAT reporting, and month end journal posting. Configuration work included setting up master data for customer and supplier accounts, payment run workflows, and site-specific reporting to produce daily site, group and month end reports within SAP Business One.
Operational scope concentrated on the finance department at the Manvers Rotherham site, with the Site Accountant designated as the primary governance owner for site-level processes. Specific tasks explicitly tied to SAP Business One include setting up new accounts on SAP B1, managing credit control and purchase ledger duties, executing weekly and monthly payment runs, producing monthly site VAT returns for consolidation, posting month end journals, and managing intercompany reconciliations to support year end audit activity.
Governance and process restructuring emphasized role-based ownership and operationalization of financial routines within SAP Business One, reflected by recruitment of an Accounts Assistant reporting to the Site Accountant to perform daily reconciliations and SAP B1 transactional tasks. The implementation aligned system configuration with established finance workflows for accounts setup, payments, credit control, and audit support, ensuring SAP Business One serves as the central ERP Financial system for site and group accounting activities.

In 2005 Cepac implemented NGA PWA Empower HR as its Core HR application to centralize HR administration for the Rotherham manufacturing site. A part time fixed term HR role was originally three months but was extended to June 2016, responsible for providing a comprehensive HR service to employees and site management for the Rotherham site which employed circa 200 staff.
NGA PWA Empower HR was used to manage recruitment and the full employment lifecycle, including issuing offer letters and contracts, conducting reference checks, arranging inductions, performing probationary period reviews, and creating new starter records within the Empower HRIS. Functional capabilities implemented included absence management for holidays and sickness, administration of discipline and grievance procedures, coordination of training within budget, and management of medical suspensions and return to work interviews.
The deployment integrated NGA PWA Empower HR with the Optimum Time & Attendance System to produce weekly and monthly attendance and overtime statistics and to align time and attendance data with absence management workflows. Reporting from the Optimum integration fed operational attendance metrics used by site HR for overtime control and sickness monitoring.
Governance and operational workflows were structured around site level HR administration working alongside the Group HR Manager, with Empower HRIS records driving onboarding, probation tracking, and occupational health referrals. The implementation emphasized configuration of HRIS onboarding workflows, time and attendance data feeds, and documented procedures for contract issuance, induction scheduling, and occupational health coordination.

In 2016, Cepac implemented QlikView to strengthen enterprise reporting and business intelligence across its distribution group. The QlikView deployment targeted finance and group reporting workflows, leveraging data from the company s multi-site financial databases to provide consolidated visibility across five site G/L account structures.
QlikView was provisioned as the primary Analytics and BI platform to extract content stored in core system database tables and to surface reports and dashboards for end users. Access and training in QlikView were provided alongside Solver BI360 to the Business Applications Manager, enabling report creation, troubleshooting, and ongoing assessment of existing business systems.
The implementation integrated QlikView data feeds with the company s SAP environment and the intercompany mappings that had been standardized across five site databases, supporting group-level financial reporting and reconciliations. Operational coverage included the finance function and group IT, with data model linkage focused on transactional and G/L datasets for consolidated reporting.
Governance and rollout included documented processes and protocols for correct software usage, staged training for business users, and full post completion audits communicated to directors. Ongoing responsibilities for the Business Applications Manager included process assessment, report support using QlikView, and capturing requirements to refine content and workflows.
