In 2014, Cérélia North America implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV as its ERP Financial system. The implementation was led by core team members to establish a single system of record for purchasing and inventory control, with an explicit focus on managing raw ingredients and packaging requirements for approximately 1500 SKUs.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV was configured to support inventory and procurement workflows, contract management for commodities, cost accounting controls and spend analysis capabilities. Functional configuration included SKU level inventory planning, booking and managing commodities contracts, and price variance analysis against budget, reflecting typical ERP Financial module alignment for procurement to ledger processes.
Operational coverage centered on procurement, finance, manufacturing, research and development, and quality assurance within the Cérélia North America organization. The NAV instance supported cross functional workflows to coordinate supplier negotiations, cost control and savings programs led with suppliers and R&D, and to identify issues that constitute risk to food safety and product quality.
Governance and process changes emphasized maintaining system accuracy and institutionalizing spend analysis and price variance review as routine controls. The project notes that the Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP Financial deployment was successfully implemented and was used to support mastery of negotiation and price analysis capabilities tied to supplier and product quality governance.
