| Serrala | Legacy | Serrala FinanceSuite | AP Automation | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2012 | 2012 |
In 2012, Chevron Corporation implemented Serrala FinanceSuite to address AP Automation requirements across its finance organization. The deployment positioned Serrala FinanceSuite as the core AP Automation platform for accounts payable and shared service center processing, aligning the application with corporate finance and payment orchestration functions.
The implementation included core modules of Serrala FinanceSuite such as invoice automation, procure to pay orchestration, payment management, vendor portal capabilities, dynamic discounting and cash applications management. Configuration work focused on automated invoice capture, three way matching and approval routing to streamline invoice to payment lifecycles and reduce manual touch points in accounts payable.
Architecturally the Serrala FinanceSuite deployment was designed to interface with enterprise finance systems, leveraging Serrala capabilities for ERP connectivity including SAP ERP ECC and S4Hana and cloud multi ERP solutions to synchronize master data, invoices and payment files. The integration approach centralized invoice flows and payment orchestration so that Serrala FinanceSuite acted as the transaction hub between vendor portals, bank connectivity and back end ledgers.
Governance and workflow changes centered on formalizing AP procedures into shared service workflows and vendor onboarding via the vendor portal, with role based approval paths and exception handling embedded in the application. Serrala FinanceSuite served as the control plane for AP Automation at Chevron Corporation, enabling standardized invoice processing, vendor communications and payment execution within corporate finance.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2018 | 2019 |
In 2018 Chevron implemented Workday Absence Management within its broader Absence and Leave Management footprint to standardize leave tracking and integrate absence workflows with existing HCM processes. The deployment was part of a multi-module Workday program that included Time Tracking, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Core HR reporting, and Learning, and the implementation work spanned Chevron resources and implementation partners during a Houston based engagement that ran through 2017 and 2018.
Workday Absence Management was configured with business processes and conditional rules to enforce approval flows and notifications, and Workday business process configuration was used to create and refine end to end absence workflows. The implementation leveraged Workday EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, and web services including SOAP WSDL and XML based Document Transformation to build inbound and outbound integrations, and integrations specifically connected absence and time data into payroll and downstream vendor and internal systems. Functional capabilities implemented included Time and Labor page validation, absence balances and eligibility rules, absence-related calculated fields and composite reports, and creation of advanced custom reports for headcount and turnover analysis.
Governance and operational rollout incorporated role based security and domain security policy configuration, workflow mapping, and defined role users for approval and data stewardship. Testing artifacts included test cases for UAT and SAT, integration testing for EIB and Core Connector flows, and ongoing functional and technical support for HCM payroll and time tracking interfaces. Training and enablement used the Workday Learning module to deliver learner centered curriculums and train staff on new absence processes, and in-house learning content development reduced external training spend by the explicitly documented amount of $30,000 per year.

| SparkCognition | Legacy | SparkCognition Maana | Asset Performance Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Chevron Corporation implemented SparkCognition Maana as an Asset Performance Management solution to formalize domain expertise and support decision processes for asset operations. The engagement positioned SparkCognition Maana as a digital knowledge platform leveraging computational knowledge graph technology to represent equipment relationships, failure modes, and diagnostic reasoning for asset performance workflows.
The implementation used Maana's no-code and low-code authoring tools to enable subject matter experts to encode domain knowledge and decision logic, while data scientists and developers collaborated to operationalize models and analytics. Functional capabilities implemented included knowledge graph modeling, decision process automation, and application templates for business critical operational use cases consistent with Asset Performance Management workflows.
Architecturally the deployment combined Maana's computational knowledge graph with SparkCognition's broader AI platform to link encoded expertise to operational data and analytics workflows, creating a bridge between human knowledge and machine intelligence. Integrations centered on exposing encoded decision processes to analytics and monitoring pipelines, enabling run-time inference and prescriptive guidance within asset management processes.
Governance shifted toward knowledge engineering practices, with SMEs authoring and versioning domain models and cross-functional teams governing model lifecycle, testing, and deployment. SparkCognition's acquisition of Maana later consolidated the platform offering and Maana's applications have been reported to deliver customer savings measured in tens of millions of dollars annually, supporting multi-year enterprise engagements with Fortune Global 100 customers including Chevron.
