| ManagedMethods | Legacy | ManagedMethods CASB Solution | Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) | CyberSecurity | n/a | 2018 | 2018 | In 2018 the City of Arvada implemented the ManagedMethods CASB Solution to gain visibility and control over data stored, accessed, and shared in G Suite, using the ManagedMethods Cloud Access Monitor capability as the initial enforcement surface. The deployment targeted data security and compliance objectives for municipal IT, and the ManagedMethods CASB Solution was selected for its agentless architecture and rapid time to visibility. Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) functionality was central to the initiative, delivered in an operationally light manner that required no proxies or endpoint agents. The implementation focused on out of the box and customizable policy monitoring, including automated detection, alerting, sensitive data quarantine, and remediation workflows that are characteristic of CASB solutions. IT configured policy templates to cover the citys compliance requirements, then extended those templates through customization to address municipal data classifications and sharing patterns. The Cloud Access Monitor capability was used to instrument access telemetry and policy enforcement without altering user experience or network topology. Integration scope was explicitly limited to the Citys G Suite environment, providing a single point of monitoring and control for cloud email, drive, and collaboration artifacts. Operational coverage centered on the city IT team and municipal staff, with downstream impact on services consumed by residents and local businesses through protected data handling. Functional areas affected included cloud security operations, data governance, and compliance monitoring. Governance and rollout emphasized minimal disruption, rapid onboarding in minutes, and scalability as the city grows, enabling the IT team to operationalize policy driven controls quickly. The ManagedMethods CASB Solution detected and sent alerts about risky behavior, quarantined sensitive information, and executed remediation steps before incidents could affect employees, residents, or businesses, aligning enforcement mechanics with the citys compliance posture. |
